So guys, do you think he is going to ditch the 4T from his short program?

Very likely. If he didn't have the injury, doing 4lo only gives him less than 2 points increase in BV in the SP, but he may mess up the 4lo and the rest of the program and lose more than 2 points. Doing 4lo in the SP doesn't seem like a good option unless his 4lo is very consistent. But he had a foot injury, the risk of doing 4t is even greater than messing up 4lo because the injury may recur and he doesn't have much time left before the Olympic season to allow the injury to heal if the injury recur. Now, doing 4lo in the SP is a better option than doing 4t in the SP.

Similarly, doing 3lo combo in the 2nd half of LP now seems like a better option than doing 3t combo in the 2nd half of LP.

Another way to look at the injury is that his injury actually pushes him to up his tech and try more difficult quad and jump combo because the easier quad and jump combo are now more risky than the more difficult ones.

he can always do 4Lo3T

just saying ;) if landing of 4lo is ok, it won't be big problem

I think if he lands 4lo with ok/decent success rate in competitions next season, he may do 4lo3t in both sp and lp in the Olympic season. If he does 4lo3t first and 4s 2nd in the SP, it allows him to add 3t to 4s if he doesn't land his 4lo well. If he does 4s3t as 2nd jump in the sp, once he doesn't land 4s well, he won't get another chance to add combo to another jump. Assume he does 4lo, 4t in the 1st half and 4s in the 2nd half of the LP and a quad combo in the 1st half, if he doesn't land 4lo well, he can always add 3t to the next quad 4t. But if he only plans to do 4t3t as 2nd jump, once he misses the 4t, he will have to add 3t to 4s in the 2nd half. Doing 4lo3t is actually safer in both sp and lp.

Another photo of Yuzu with young skater INS

I laughed when I saw the photo. I almost started to believe a Japanese fan's comment I came across on Twitter some weeks ago: "So now you have to be a little girl to be able to take a photo with Yuzuru?!!":rofl:

About Yuzuru's skate shoes;

Tight from the ankle to arch of foot, and really loose at the toe part.
President of Phiten asked Narumi Takahashi and Kozuka about this, and they were surprised saying, "It's only Yuzuru who can do that!"

Yuzuru hauls his toes in the loose shoes and adjusts his jump landing :roll9:
No way to understand such a miracle move :confused2:
According to this poster, 5-toe socks are good without hurting feet.

It seems Phiten has a meeting schedule with Yuzuru next month (August). When will it be? Does anyone have any further information?

So he's spreading his toes to grab his shoes when he is landing... like this?:confused:
Anyway, it's amazing...
cool video. wish they can do something like that for Yuzu's 3A :luv17:

It's interesting that they mention ice skaters bring their arms close to their body so that the upper part can spin faster, wonder if that's why jumps with hand(s) above head are rewarded for their difficulties.
