Indeed, he has put 4S very shortly after he started to land it and it took him some time to master it, but he was not rushing 4lo, and if he is practicing it with transitions indicates it's ready, and I expect it to be in both programs

Slow and steady is good, the goal is 2018.

omg sooooo cute :luv17: little phantom :luv17::luv17:

The Phantom one is actually good! The golden finish looks even better than on Yuzu's original costume.

Which is funny to see because POTO has been on my mind today.

Guys, do you remember how Yuzu popped the second jump at WTT, which was otherwise a clean performance? Well, the biggest problem to me was that the jump didn't match the music highlight, other than than the performance would have been nearly perfect.

So... I edited it so that the jump does match the music highlight!

The only tiny flaw now is that the popped 3T is a bit too small a jump for such a big highlight.

Call me cheesy, but I do love Yuzuru's POTO.

And a request: if anyone has access to a clip of that pefromance, the tv broadcast version, in high quality, I would be grateful to have it. The source I used was simply another youtube clip and I did what I could to make it look good but the video quality is still far from great and I would love to edit again using a really HQ source.

great! I was watching this performance the other day and then I watched his R&J 2 and I realized I like his POTO a lot more! It's a really beautiful program

It is, isn't it? The last third is amazing in its bombastic glory, with 3 back to back jump passes righ on music bangs, the arm spread on the layback ina bauer to correspond with the big glory note, and the fade out with the spin combos. That program knew how to finish BIG!

watching this poto again shows how huge step he made with Seimei

seriously, Seimei is like in other dimension with level of difficulty not only with more quads, but also choreography/transitions wise

His programs this season will be even more difficult.

This article says Yuzuru will do Autumm Classic? http://headlines.yahoo.co.jp/hl?a=20160902-00000098-jij-spo
Google translate says so but I am not sure.

Yes, this article says it depends on his condition.
I think people around him are very cautious about him doing the first competition, which is good.
Still, I know I will be very nervous in the next few weeks.

PICTURES & VIDEOS

I wanted to see his competition program of White Legend.

4CC 2011

But I think there was one time when there was a video of an 4A attempt, I think it was a failed one but I think I saw him trying 4A before. I was two feet landing? Anyone remembers this?
Is it this video (around 0:40)? It is still half rotation away haha.

Grand Prix Final next season 7-10Dec 2017 in Nagoya .

Saw some tweets about new Bathclin cm, but fans have given up hope on seeing Yuzu in bathtub/shower...the closest is this

TRANSLATIONS

Apparently according to this tweet :
https://twitter.com/savarinz/status/770091679307165696
Yuzu had practiced/done/landed all quads except the 4T and 4A?
The article is from the magazine, Pirouette, someone here fluent in German? There is a screencap of the article on that tweet
Apparently the author has been to the Cricket Club on August 2nd and could watch a training session. Last paragraph:
Hanyu with new jumps.
I could watch Yuzuru Hanyu and can confirm what Lutricia Bock and Lea Johanna Dastich said during Skate Detroit (see page 14). He tried a lot of quads (expect axel and toe loop), he landed a lot of them, but sometimes he also landed on (I assume the sentence will end on the next page with something like) [his butt]

A lot of Q&A and press interviews with Yuzu at Lotte event, the team at YHIFG FB is helping in some of the translations

1) Translation by Angelica to this 11min video.
- Encourage Tao-san to try ice skating
- Being embarrassed by the 3 ladies
- Finishing the chocolate during the CM
- Flirty Yuzu plus go for 8 packs
- Thing that get him excited and heart throbbing

2) Translation of the part regarding doesn't go to seaside "Only good on frozen water. Not liquid water. ".
A fanart, Let's go to the sea. That's ok you have the float (rough google translation)

3) Translation on question about "exciting points or things we should pay attention to in new programmes". Looks like he is keeping them under wrap till SC lol

4) Translation on questions about "your feelings now towards the new season?"

Edit to add the below.
5) Translation of his solo interview after the main event based on this video. Some parts already posted earlier.

Tumblr version summary of translation (2), (3), (4) & (5) for those who cannot view facebook.

Yuzuru might have tried 4A in last November

Triple Axel for the distance of 12 seats.
(Reported by a photographer)

http://headlines.yahoo.co.jp/hl?a=20160901-00000112-spnannex-spo
Very sorry, I was so surprised that I posted without translation.

Here is my rough translation for that report written by the photographer, Yutaka Nagakubo (no relative of Nagakubo Coach )

"It was last November in Nagano where NHK Trophy was held when Yuzuru Hanyu jumped maverick triple axel. He made an extraordinary lead in SP the day before, and was doing practice in the morning of the day of FS. After everyone finished their runthrough, the air at the section for photographers was rather dull. Taking a distance from other skaters, Hanyu jumped 3A twice. And, for the third time, he accelerated and did Axel jump with an extraordinary distance. One, two rotations….., between the continuous shootings, it looked he quit his jump in the middle and landed.

“He quit in mid-jump, didn’t he?”
“Yes, he landed before completed.”

Did he fail? I confirmed through the camera monitor, but he rotated 3 and a half turn for sure.
And the fourth 3A. He jumped awfully high, and made a really big fall.

A jump with distance, and a jump with height. I was not sure whether it was just a kind of variation, or it was in the midst of his challenge for 4A.

On 27th of last month, he finally appeared before us looking very healthy. There should have been so many fans who worried with very fragmentary information arrived since he was injured in his left instep. Grand Prix Series will begin in next month, and now people are more and more wanting to know about his new programs, costumes, and other information.

Now, the pre-season of PyeongChang Olympics. The conditions to win in the Olympics may be revealing. For FS, will the era of “3 types, 4 quad jumps” come? Or, more than that? Boyang Jin has 4Lz, and Shoma Uno has succeeded 4F. It is natural everyone wants to know about the third type of quad of the Olympic champion.

We have seen his landing 4Lo many times in practices or exhibitions. In Makomanai, last year end, I saw he was trying 4Lz (Sorry, I happened to see it when I went to the rink to place my equipment before opening). But these all happened in the last season.

I knew 17-year-old Yuzuru Hanyu.
That legendary Niece Worlds in 2012.
I knew his leg was injured.
“Stop him. No more skating, otherwise he would damage his ligament (I thought his injury was with his knee. Later, we came to know it was sprained ankle.) Probably, he himself was told the same thing. But he barked on the rink to shake off such thing, and danced for 4 minutes and 30 seconds too fierce to frame in the camera angle.

In the erupted cheers, I knew photographers who cried saying “His leg was injured, you know”, cried “I know him since he was little”, and cried “Now, he is so far away.”

I know he remains essentially intact since then. Because I know it, I’m scared. As for this season, even if his rivals increase the number of their quads, his incomparability would not change. But, even so, he is going to win with overwhelming programs. He cannot be Lysacek in Vancouver.

He is a person who changes such fears of injuries or our worries into his motivation to fight. So, I would not say any more. Maybe it is too early, but when he finished his skating in PyeongChang, I want him to point out in the air just like he did in Niece. Then, I’m sure I would be crying too."

I was actually re-watching PoTO from the GPF the yesterday and was thinking the same thing, there was so much improvement in a year to his skating.

And a request: if anyone has access to a clip of that pefromance, the tv broadcast version, in high quality, I would be grateful to have it. The source I used was simply another youtube clip and I did what I could to make it look good but the video quality is still far from great and I would love to edit again using a really HQ source.

Is this high quality enough?

The POTO in 2014-2015 season is the watered down version. It's not surprising SEIMEI is much more difficult than POTO. Maybe you should compare SEIMEI with RJ2. Other than replacing a 3lz with a 4t, is everything else in SEIMEI much more difficult than RJ2?

It's about the same quality as my source... I would settle for a sharp-looking 1080 youtube download but what my heart truly desires a 1080 resolution file with big bitrate that come off tv broadcasts and haven't gone through the youtube compression... On the other hand this one's without the commentary so maybe I'll put it through some filters and see if the final result would be any better

I love Yuzu's POTO too...I often wonder how more stunning and the real final product of that program if the collision and surgery didn't happen, where Yuzu and Shae would have polished it further through-out that season (even Shae mentioned it her interviews).

I just thought of something: this season Yuzuru is going to take part in: AC, SC, NHK, GPF (assuming), Japanese Nationals, 4CC, WC, WTT... Holy crap. Knowing his track record, I don't know how he's planning to peak at WC. Just hoping he and Orser are treating this as a training to learn how to get him peak at the right time. :hopelessness:

JSF requires the gold medalist from nationals next year to attend Asian Winter Games instead of 4CC. Yuzu clearly wants to go to 4CC, the test event for 2018 Olympics, I wonder if there's any way out of this~~maybe skip nationals?
