Okay you guys I must confess, I tweeted the protocol to Phil Hersh. Since he doesn't follow me, not sure if he will see it, but...![]()
We need a Phill Hersh snark Bingo game... will he snark that it was a generous call, or will he snark that he fell?... taking all bets.
Still, it is great progress...
He gave props for winning FS but unsurprisingly, snarked about fall.
ETA and of course people on the Lombardia thread are already snarking that the tech panel was blind and that he shouldn't have got full credit. Surprise!
I fully expect some people to refuse to believe that he can ever do a quad. He could do a quint and some people would still call it UR.
(sorry, had to watch tape, going from Pacific back to Eastern and crawling into bed at 3 a.m. "my" time: even Jason couldn't pull me out!). I can see how you couldn't like the Piano music (I didn't) but how can the haters hate on this program???? I don't get it. I've said it before, there could be tape of Jason helping a little old lady cross the street and some folks would criticize how he held her arm. But still a glorious program.
What would Jason's score here have been clean?
He got a 88.91 TES score here with 6.3 for the quad. A Clean quad with .5 GOE would be worth 10.8 or an increase of 4.5 and a new TES of 93.41.
Getting that 2Lo (why oh why do we not use R for Rittberger for Loop? It would make discussions so much better/easier and make score sheets and conversation so much cleaner and prettier.) up to a 3Lo is the other clear improvement. He got a 1.98 here. He got 6.73 for his 3Lo at TCC, but I know that event is not popular to use as reference. So his three attempts in 2015 scored 6.31, 6.11, 6.17. I'll take the middle ground of 6.17 and say there is potential for a 4.19 increase, or a new TES of 97.60.
Now looking at PCS.
PCS at Lombardia = 87.0 - his best at a non- team event.
PCS at WTT = 89.14 This is his official personal best.
PCS at TCC = 91.70
So that gives us a total score of 184.60/186.74/189.30
And over simplified answer to how much is SP could be worth is 41.38 plus 8.6 for the quad and .92 for the improved combo = new TES of 50.9.
PCS at Lombardia = 41.20
PCS at WTT = 42.61 This is his official personal best.
PCS at TCC = 44.20
so a SP score of 92.1/93.51/95.1
Combined that is 276.70/280.25/284.40 - depending on what you think is most appropriate. This is with no increase of PCS for the quad... so I actually think the TCC scores likely are reasonably.
... Anyway congrats on winning the FS and winning the Anna Grandolf award for best program! That's pretty neat. And getting silver. ...
about the Grandolfi prize from the Lombardia thread:
won the prize for ladies, and like Jason, she would have won either way.
.His problem with the 3Lo is a head scratcher - he's been doing that jump since forever, and I don't recall him having problems with it in this program until Glacier Falls, when he had to put his foot down. Then he fell on it in the warm up today. Hopefully it's just a bit of a glitch that he can fix quickly. It would be kind of silly to finally succeed with the 4T only to lose a chunk of points on the 3Lo!
