Figure Skating is nothing here..
*bemused*. You only have a JGP in a couple of weeks, the Nebelhorn trophy, the famous gala ex in December, the NRW trophy (two of them, even!)... Doesn't sound too bad to me!
In Holland, the single international event we had was cancelled due to organizational difficulties. I think that's jargon for: no money to justify organizing it when we get five paying audience members. They really should get Yuzu to come, I am positive we could get that skating rink filled to the max with paying audience!! (if not from Holland, then surely from Germany, UK, France etc and of course Japanese! ;-) )

We've waited 7 months already, perhaps we could wait another 24 hours?

One thing is to wait when you're helpless because there's no news ... But when the thing you're waiting for is one day away it makes everything that much harder. Not to say that Yuzuru's practices generally are amazing, and by the time the competition starts hopefully videos of the practice will be one click away :hap85:

It's so exciting there are already some of our members there!! I can't believe our wait is almost over !

Thanks everyone for all the updates and information! :)

Glad to see yuzu reached there already!
Finally, we can see him skating after a long interval. :hap93:

This thread really moves fast  Sad we don't get to see the practice but as long as they stream the competition I don't mind. Will it also get streamed on youtube (like the JGP)? I'm not that fond of DM:scratch2:

Last year it didn't, and given that the organisers have only shared the DM link, I doubt it will this year either

But I'm pretty sure people will post on Youtube not that long after it livestreams :agree:

Given how we managed to fill the Barcelona venue, I'm pretty sure we could fill a venue in Holland :hap10:

Also, it would be a perfect excuse to stay a few more day to visit this beautiful country :hap93:

Ah, i was there, in Amsterdam, Haag, Delft, Scheveningen, i visited Keukenhof, it was a nice time i have only good memories :luv17:

:hijacked:
It is decided then, Yuzuru will come to the Challenge Cup 2017 in The Hague, which is NOT going to get cancelled, and we are all going sightseeing, and maybe we can show Yuzu around, too (preferably also outside the Randstad, the Netherlands is a lot more than just north and south Holland provinces!).
:o:
aaaaand back on topic, away from Dreamland and into real life, where are those practice vids already, eh? Eh?

At first it's said the event starts in the middle of the week and then you have to wait until the weekend :angry2:
It's already saturday here when the men's SP begins

You are right, but media coverage in main stream media like newspapers is marginal, ARD/ZDF or Eurosport 1 not at all. Streams just for insiders. Figure skating doesn't get to "normal" people on their breakfast table.

Hehhehe, yeah, i was there for 5 days and that was all we got to see

Tell me about it.

Before I really got interested in FS because of Yuzu and joined this forum I didn't know Warsaw Cup even existed.

You people complaining about the lack of figure skating while in EUROPE ... Try living in Latin America. :rofl2:

Speaking at least for my country the rinks we have here are 99% in malls, and I have a vague memory of going to one of them when I was little. I think Argentina might be better in this department since at least there's more snow there while in here it only snows in the deep south or at really high altitude.

At least this year, this month actually (!!) there was finally an ice show here BUT of course because the world isn't fair it was not in my state, even though I live in a neighbour state I couldn't go because of course money and college. And to make things that much frustrating my father lives in that state and 30-40min away from the city it was held. :palmf:

Looking at the only bright side there is at least I live at the second biggest city of the country so hopefully in the future someone will decide to come here but I doubt.

Well when I graduate and earn my own money and if I have time I will go to any competition I want, people will be tired of seeing me there. :dbana:

Edit: Before I wrote "the worlds" instead of "the world" lmfao the figure skating is strong in this one
