A whole lot a marijuana would be needed for this to happen. Probably more than a little country like Jamaica could even produce. It cracks me up just thinking about TAT drawing on a splif.
Ice dance does not reward risks as Maddie and Evan are slowly finding out. If you're going to take a risk you have to be immaculate and have the skating skills of Tessa and Scott or G/G. But to be fair to their competitors Evan made a really huge mistake on the twizzles today. It's like the pressure got to him.
IMHO, in ice dance you have to make a choice; do you want to win or do you want to create artistic statements? It's very difficult to do both simultaneously. I hope I/Z can be one of those few to be successful at doing both.

I think what holds Chock/Bates back are their artistic limitations. They were always the technical solid team who lacked personality. I/Z have tons of personality and charisma. I hope the work they did over the summer with Shpilband improved their consistency, because that`s what was holding them back last season.
Really? I think C/B and I/Z are fairly similar. Powerful 'diva' female and wallflower partner.

I think Chock and Bates are extremely dynamic performers. They don't do much for me on the computer screen either, a lot of the time, but I've seen them live twice now and in person they truly do light up the room and ooze personality. In any case we can compliment Ruslena without feeling the need to drag other teams down.

I saw Chock and Bates live in Barcelona last year and didn`t find them impressive at all.
Anyway I`m looking forward to Ruslena`s debut. 20 days
I have never liked C/B together. I find it a mismatch and find Bates to be very non present.
I can't wait for their début! That FD is going to be the best FD of the season IMHO.
All the rest are pretty boring Montreal romantic stuff, this will be dynamic and entertaining.
You watch, if they pull this off, there will be a whole spate of dynamic FDs next season.

I've seen Chock/Bates live a few times over the years. Their speed and edge power is incredible. Sometimes the speed makes their moves look a bit unrefined and lacking in subtlety. Chock is also much more beautiful in person, though her beauty is not as fluid as Elena. Chock and Lena both could use a more passionate partner, but the way things are they have to do more interesting, outside the box programs instead of willowy romantic acts.

For me, Ruslan can definitely bring the passion in his performances as he did in their two previous SDs. He seems to be the kind of performer who needs to be directed and given a really clear vision of the character he is portraying. Hopefully, their team addressed that with this year’s programs. Another strength of his is his connection and chemistry with Elena. When they are on, it’s fire, combustion and flames, fireworks, etc. Some of their past performances, they lacked this a little, but I think the culprit was nerves. Kudos to Igor, for pushing Elena and Ruslan to try something new with a Bollywood routine. Between the tangos FDs, the ethereal-romantic-flowy FDs and the safe routine, FDs this Bollywood FD will hopefully be a stand-out routine. Jai Ho and the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack have been on constant play in my house since Elena and Ruslan announced this as their FD music. So, to make the time go by faster until Skate America, I made a little countdown and thought I would share.

I really can't see those VK pictures. Maybe I have to finally register. Are the VK groups more active than the rest of the social media?
SA is approaching. When are they planing to travel back to USA? They have to see and work for a while with Igor before the competition I guess.
