At this point, I'd take anything over the white pants, *anything*.

But... if this makes him happy to skate in this outfit, then who am I to argue against it? I'm already getting my dream come true tonight with Hanyu skating to Joe Hisaishi music, what more could I possibly ask for this season? (Oh, okay, a clean performance at Worlds... but that's not much to ask, is it? *grin* Oh, and I would love another lettuce slash merman outfit!)

delurking to drop a (requisite) comment on the costume. upon first sighting i literally hit the ground laughing had to take a moment and walk around a bit. took a day but i've come around to the idea. it helps that the HD broadcasts showed it better, and it seems pretty well made. if he's not changing the costume and they're not dyeing the ice, here's another solution: they need to get his programs on 4K :agree: (maybe even 8K :luv17

Am I part of the minority who love the white pants then? He's like a bedazzled angel waiter serving us heavenly figure skating blessings. Picture him with white fluffy wings and a halo to match and it might grow on you.

Though I am 100% sure the moment he hits Japanese ground he'll have it altered for either more ruffles/gems/sparkles or a combination of all three. He's Yuzu afterall.

You're not a minority, it's just that the complaining minority always end up being the loudest, to the point where they make you think you are outnumbered. It's like that for everything in life.

Except on this forum, every single person I've shown the program to has been excited about it, and most of them think the costume looks really cool and fitting of a Prince theme.

As a die-hard Yuzu fan, I support him with whatever he does and wears. There have been several costumes in the past I've really disliked, but whatever. I adore him as a skater and person and just want to see him do well and be happy. Would I like the white pants to be another color? Sure, but I'm not going to dwell on it. I think the program itself is great in every way and there is no reason to be critical of any of the elements or gestures. After he settles in with it, I believe he will shut the naysayers up. I'm excited to see his free skate regardless of what he's wearing!

Twitter user skating_cat_A posted her thoughts after Yuzuru's practice. She thought that he looked heavier/sluggish today, perhaps tired after the short. She thought he looked a bit nervous. In comparison with the other days his jumps were more off-axis. She nearly cried at the StSq and says it's a very impressive part of his program.

Awww, c'mon, we're just having some fun. He wears what he wants and then skates like a rock star. I have nothing to critique with his skating, (except for the phone gesture), so I have to play with the costumes. It's skating, it's Yuzu, it's what we do!

Of course! I don't like the white pants (and probably never will) but as long as he can skate the way he wants to and get the points he deserves, I'll learn to get used to it. I love the SP despite it, after all.

I think the program itself is great in every way and there is no reason to be critical of any of the elements or gestures.

Well I'm happy for you if you think that every single movement is perfection. I think the phone gesture is silly, and that's still reason enough for me. Hating the pants and not liking little details doesn't mean that I can't still love the program, and it certainly doesn't mean that I don't support him in his silly pants.

Just watched his SP, and love it!! I was skeptical about Prince at first, but Hanyu is so ON with the music and choreography. Even with the jump mistakes, I really enjoyed it. Can't wait to see this one again and again this season .

Let's face it. Whatever he chooses to wear, it is bound to be a hot topic of conversation. That's part of his "star quality"; people just want to talk about him!

I'm glad he got the nerve-racking first skate of the season out of the way. We've seen him do better 4lo so looking forward to seeing those again in competition coming up!

Yes, I also can't help it but I wish he takes out the PHONE gesture. Too much cheese. Okay for EX maybe but I don't think he needs it!

I know right, that's why I dare not complain anything at all about the SP. Thinking of fluffy and lace and feather.... it will kill me. I guess I will faint when he shows his FS costume btw.:disapp:
