This is news clip including the interview at tcc on the other days open practice (September 13-14). From 7:00-. Brian's short comment is also new?(around 10:00) I hope there is any translation.
@Sugy summarized it yesterday (sorry I can't find it since this thread goes so fast!)

Yuzu and Marin combination is something new.

What impressed me is he says efforts don't pay off sometimes. The person who practice most is not always a winner. But the effort that didn't lead to success itself isnt meaningless and it may need the new way of effort.

This statement here reminds me why I'm a fan of this wonderful athlete. I'm one who never goes for all about consistent perfection and winning but I always finds myself supporting athletes that keep evolving and able to acknowledge their own weakness but is not feeling down about, instead he use it as another stepping platform to improve himself. Really really admirable.

Misha is so funny and sweet! And max is a nice guy!

Thank you hamaguri for the link :thank: This is what I saw last night, and the latter part is the interview which should have been aired earlier :roll5:

Yuzuru's words are always so precious.

EDIT: My memory is humble. I'll revise what I wrote last time:

"I like the feeling being expected. It is not a pressure. It is a pleasure/kick." (快感 kaikan has a nuance beyond "pleasure".)

I hope someone will try the whole translation. This is a good interview.

This makes me stop and reflect myself even more. Sometimes I forgot this boy is more than 10 years younger than me. I wish I can thanks him in person for that inspirational quote. Thats what I'm experiencing now. Make me wonder why things don't work eventhough I try so hard already. Yuzu's words really struck me.

I hope Yuzu doesn't rush things and take step by step. The bigger picture is the Olympics 2018. Judging from how he allowed himself to rest and didn't participate in ice shows, it seems he will be alright. This is still early of the season, there are lots of things he need to work out. We will see in a few months from now how the new strategy will work out for Yuzu and his team. I believe in him.

In this interview where he said eagerly "that wasn't Yuzuru Hanyu, Yuzuru Hanyu janai desu", before that he also said something about Japan Open and guys scoring around 190 and how he feels about that. Could someone please translate this whole part? :)

That was about Shoma Uno gaining the higher score than Yuzu did at ACI. He said he felt useless but this is not bad because it would push him to train more and show at Skate Canada what he is capable of. He said Yuzuru Hanyu that you saw at ACI is not the real one, you'll see the real one at SC.

Yes, I get the general idea but I would really love to know the exact words, especially from Yuzu.
My guess is that Orser was telling Yuzuru not to rush and he should pay attention to his health, move on little by little but as Orser turns around Yuzuru just climbs out by himself... lol bad boy.

Oh goodness! That's a very Yuzuru response but now I'm afraid he'll start throwing 40-quad loops each time he practice before SC (wonder how is that sprain). :palmf: I hope Brian&tCC will keep their eyes on him.:palmf:

Yeah, that's Yuzu.
Actually during Rio Olympics there was this interview with Daisuke Takahashi and Kohei Uchimura. Kohei said that he tries to not overtrain himself by putting the maximum effort in each training session and each exercise. He says he imagines that the exercise is the actual competition and tries his best. On the other hand though- in the interview he held with TV channel with his wife he said (or she said that about him, not sure) that sometimes he overtrains himself. So... you get the idea. Every training session has to be efficient therefore an athelete needs a good coaching expect eye to fix flaws on the spot.
Yesterday I've been reading the interview with Serghey Voronov who won Nepela Trophy being without coach at competition. He said that no matter how experienced an athlete might be (s)he still needs another pair of eyes to waatch over trainings and warmups and come with a piece of advice so he asked Alexander Smirnov who was at Nepela too to help him with this. He highly praised Alexander's ability to help him, to find the right words to motivate him right before the skate. Serghey added that Alexander might become a great coach one day. And that is was an honour to have Alexander with him in K&C and at the rink to help him through even so Alexander himself is a competeing athlete, at the same very competition. So you get the idea. Every athlete needs a coach.
So Yuzu will work hard on gaining consistancy on 4Lo. He has another coach to help him with it, that is a very good thing. I need to write down his name and learn it to apprecciate his help. But Yuzu will have to find the way to lessen the unnecessary stress on his hardworking feet too. And I hope his coaching and medical team would help him do that. He also has to learn some patience because patience is a wise weapon of a warriors too. It comes with experience. He'll learn it.

So now we have actually decent photos of the FS costume, and I am IN LOVE! Wow! It is perfect, so many color shades and sparkles and it is not smooth at all, it is all sorts of all ripples and stuff. Squee.

I don't understand the relevance here. This are two different competitions in different countries. And then the judges.....:roll5:
