Yuzuru Hanyu: 2016-17 Season

Really hard to beat that, but I was on American Idol forum during the Adam Lambert vs. Everybody Else era, that place taught me how to troll. The stuff that went down there had mods working overtime.


Omg, that fanfic. I remember reading it and wondering what other idiotic stuff the troll author would come up with, so bad it was good.

Aaaaand, now I want Yuzu to skate to My Immortal the song. It's a wonderful song. Or Bring Me Back to Life, it's more dynamic. Or a medley of both. Anyone for emo rock Yuzu LP? I bet Finnish audience would eat it up!

Now that you mention Finland... How about some Apocalyptica? Nightwish? Sonata Arctica?! How am i supposed to go through my playlists now without wondering if the song that is currently playing would be good for Yuzu
And yes, i frequented the biggest Latin American Harry Potter forum (and mugglenet too). Mods were fired, there were actual spies when they organized the first shipping debate, Messenger wars... Fun times

Apocalyptica might be good, their heavymetal classical instrumental (lol) covers of Metallica would be innovative, have melodies familiar to much audience across the world, and no heavymetal singing that could put some people off. Or they could do a blend of original Metallica and Apocalyptica. But I'm not sure if that sort of music wouldn't be too heavy for Yuzu. Nightwish has some lighter pieces, something could be fittng... :think: Personally, I quite like the Rasmus...

But really, the style of Evanescence in particular sounds like it'd be good fit for Yuzu.

Now off to look up Sonata Arctica, not familiar with them.

A few years back a finnish rock band called Lordi won that contest, with the song "hard rock hallelujah".
That would probably be a song Yuzuru never would skate to, but imagne Brian's face or Jeff's face if he came with that suggestion?

I saw that he would skate by something by Il Volo and i thought of Grande Amore (i am a bit glad he didn't as i would have died of joy, but still...)
And i am a big fan of Eurovision If for some bizarre reason he skated to Lordi, he would have to use a mask or i would never forgive him.
(What about the King of Eurovision songs, Fairytale? The guy did play at Sochi, didn't he?) Or just end it all and skate to Rise like a phoenix, in full Conchita costume

The one where they're hanging from the ceilling? Yes, it might be too calm, it might need to get medleyed with another Apocalyptica piece to add some dynamics, but otherwise it could be good. (I remember how my 2 friends who were massive fans of both Rasmus and HIM freaked when they did that song with Apocalyptica Good times!)

Pogo already did a marvelous Rise like a Phoenix routine, which would be quite hard to beat... But all this talk of Eurovision makes me think of Plushy, the only person to win both the Olympics and Eurovision. Next goal for Yuzu: to win Eurovision despite being from Japan!

I kinda want Yuzu to skate to the one which had them run through the graveyard to catch the midnight sun. Talk about emo... My favorite from them is Time to Burn, but sadly, I don't think it'd fit Yuzu. Too heavy and the lyrics don't fit him...

We're just having a bit of a laugh, I'm willing to bet that Olympics year will bring a program similar to this years FS or Seimei. It is what he is very good at and I wouldn't be surprised if it is of Asian/Japanese origin again.

But if he wants to go rock or pop, of course there's a tonne of Japanese music. As long as he doesn't do Gackt's Vanilla, I'm all good

This makes me laugh because I was just listening to Hyde with Yoshiki a few days ago, from the Visual Japan they just did recently, and Say Anything is something that can be actually skated to even if stripped of vocals but if we're talking about X-Japan, then this comes first - Endless Rain. I would cry my eyes out at Endless Rain true, but worth it. Second comes this - Tears. I miss Hide so darn much but seriously, yes.

I love Yuzuru with classical too the most but at the same time I also wish he could do one of these great Japanese artists one day. I know he's young so I don't know how much XJ or Laruku are close to him but still.
