2016 Trophée de France Mens FS

I'm falling more and more in love with Javier each time i see him! This program really suits him! :luv17: But I thought his 3lz looked a bit iffy? There's something weird about the way his left blade leaves the ice?:scratch2:

Doesn't Nathan need to win NHK to qualify ?

With right circumstances not. Remember when Yuzuru qualified with 2nd and 4th place? But he would need help from other skaters. We already have Shoma and Javi qualified. So, if Patrick win CoC and Yuzuru NHK we have 4 Men qualifying. Nathan need to place second at NHK and counting that Jason will be 4th or lower, and also has lower second tie breaker.

So Adam seems to have a much better chance than Nathan to enter GPF then

Which is as it should be. All those who trumpeted Nathan as this year's "thing" should be sentenced to watch his LP, with falls, no choreography, and no performance chops, and understand that the US men's field is way deeper than Nathan.

Adam and Jason were always ahead of him for GPF slots, in my book (after the SA results) and now it's up to Jason.

I'm so glad you people are here to work out the potential GPF placements because I suck at trying to figure it out. Too many possibilities.

Would love to see a U.S. man at the GPF. Most likely Jason at this point. If he can get a silver at NHK he'd be in for sure, right?

He won't have the reputation boost in NHK. Besides, Yuzu, Kolyada, Nathan are there as well.

What rep boost? Maybe he won't have a TP that'll call his clean quad under and give favours to his rivals.

off to grab some more sleep :bed:

I guess...I highly doubt he'll win NHK cause Yuzu but he'd need atleast a bronze right? I think that's doable with the field. Buuut, Nathan and Kolyada will also be there. I don't know.

Yes. Difficult task without a doubt but I still think it's doable. I am certainly hoping that it is. If he can get in that quad, I think it is.

Yes, but then Nathan can spoil his party there if he would take silver from him :cool14:

I think Ten is not fully recovered from his injuries because he planed to jump only one quad and some jumps looked more cautious than usual, so he aimed to make a clean performance as possible as he could. His SP could save his energy within much shorter time, but the FS demands his solid stamina. Though his 3 salchow with more air time in the first half of the program looked to me as the saved spot for 4S in the future if his health condition is allowed. I'm happy for his return to competition with a healthier form. That is more than important. :hap10:

I miss Nicky Slater so much, Nicky-Simon the only unbiased commentary of figure skating.

Mark Hanretty's opinions are so subjective, and he's clearly rooting for certain skaters.

Actually he still has a chance.

Two bronzes are worth 22 points. Boyang only got 7 points for his SA performance. So he would need to win COC (against Chan) to be ahead of Adam in the standings. A silver would only give him 20 points so Adam would still be ahead of him.

silver and 4th place worth more than two bronzes. Kolyada and Voronov (or even Reynolds) still have their chances.

Just want to say again that Nathan's LP is so disappointing after seeing so much promise in his SP. Marina, please add choreography to it and dissuade Nathan from doing all of those quads.
