2016 Trophée de France Mens FS

Adam's LP is so beautiful! Glad about the results. Just curious though.....were the actual medals delayed in delivery because it was strange seeing everyone who podium-ed skate around with cardboard medals....?

I agree with everyone's comments about Adam's free program. I finally just had the chance to watch it in its entirety. I cried. Such beautiful, powerful skating paired with a fully rotated quad, all on the day after his 27th birthday. Amazing. Like fine wine, he and Ashley only seem to get better with age.

some positive in protocols again

J NO 9 Steve Winkler USA

scored Denis Ten 9.25 6.25 9.00 8.50 8.50

This is how pcs should be scored. If someone doesn't have transitions just give him marks he deserve to get even if performance was better.

But at the same time I don't know where he found 7.50 for transitions in Nathan program.

Fernandez got too high pcs. His performance was flat yesterday, he was slow and tired trough half of the program. But what can you give him when that empty program from Denis got 87

well, you are assuming he didn't make a mistake... i heard some judges sometimes press the wrong button and since the score is discarded, no big deal...

it could have been a 8.25 or a 9.25 ....

lol,I want to believe
Judge from Italy gave him 7.25, other judges lost mind with those 8-8.75

Congratulations to Javi for the second GP France win!!! As he had to compete a week ago in Russia and now again it´s understandable that his freeskate did not go as well as in Russia. He must have been very tired...

Great that Ten got silver medal, such a pleasure to watch his skating again!

Rippon had a good skate, but I really dislike his habit to ask for more applause. The audiences give him what they think he deserves and it is definitely not his place to express "displeasure" by asking for more.

Chen, I wonder who had the idiocy to choose this music for him??? He does not dominate it at all and that makes his performance look really juniorish. Please find him another music and as quickly as possible!!! Sp and that music is suitable for him, this is not.

If he made a mistake, he should really pay more attention, because he's made the same mistake at Ladies' and Pairs' :sarcasm:

If Chen had gone with an easier layout (say, 3 quads).... [snip]

Men's freeskate is getting out of control. 6 years ago, a 0-quad free wins OGM. Last couple years, a 3-quad free sets/breaks record. This year, a 3-quad free is an "easier layout". :noshake:

3 quads program would work for Nathan if he could do 3A's, but it's jsut visible that it is mighty uncomfortable jump for him

Even with all those quads he has he will be always on back foot if he can't put two 3A's to program

German Eurosport guys wondered how that will hurt the hips of the likes of Nathan Chen and Boyang Jin...there were like "and in 5 years time they need a walking-aid..." One of them is a doctor and always commenting about bones and muscles. It's interesting.

Not really. Something like the below would get massive base value, without a 3A.

4z, 4f, 3l, 4t, 3lz-3t, 2a-1l-3s, 3f-3t, 3z

Nice layout. But he has problems with the fourth jump the 4T. I think he should do two easy jumps before 4T.

4Lz
4F
2A
3Lo
4T
3Lz - 3T
3Lz - 1Lo - 3S
3F - 3T
