2016-2017 State of U.S. Pairs

Hello, I wonder if anyone has their 2012 long program Nationals video? I tried finding it on youtube, couldn't find it :(

I did a little looking around and probably found the same things you did. There are a few articles about them, but not too much in the way of videos. That would be the Pearl Harbor program, I assume.

BTW, worth mentioning in case you have not seen it:

Sam Frazier, Brandon's brother, put together a very enjoyable video about D/F's experiences at 2012 Nats.

Includes snippets of their programs as well as other stuff.

... update1: Cup of Volvo? don't know what country grand prix that is....Haven is in a red dress this time https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QXKoPsIO_w

Latvia.

There's something very captivating about that music. For the first 1:30 or so there's a lot of clunking around and weird noises, but all of a sudden it gets to the wonderful theme and just keeps building to this crescendo. I love it. I've seen a couple people skate to that music, and I wish more people would use it. I don't know, maybe people don't consider it appropriate.

Every now and then, I have to go into the Crazy Future Predictions thread and give my prediction. I should have added that I want Berezhnaya and Sikharulidze to return and skate to La Califfa (even though she would be 40 years old next year!!!!) Sorry for the :otopic: :hijacked: :bang:

I'm still waiting for Tamara Moskvina to move to the US and open a pairs school. US sweeps the Olympic podium even though they only have 2 spots.
1) Haven & Brandon - gold 2) Tarah & Danny - silver 3) Marissa & Mervin - bronze 4) Alexa & Chris - pewter

the first part of music is probably when the ship was being attacked? or maybe trying to convey danger...the middle part (romantic part, lol) is about the couple in the movie, I think (btw, josh hartnett was so hot!), then last part probably builds to victory/overcoming obstacles? That's what I got from their music cut, haha. They weren't as technically strong when they performed that program, but I believe they won Nationals 2012 with that program. I don't know if they were assigned any grand prixs to that program. But now that they are recovering from injury and look a lot better technically, I would love to see them revisit this program, they are older and more mature now :) And I'd like to see brandon in the same navy outfit but a better outfit for Haven.

Hats off to Mervin Tran, who tells his raw and touching #GetUp story, including the significance of starting his partnership with Marissa:

I appreciate very much Mervin's willingness to open up in this way :ghug: .
A different side of himself from what we usually see.

Oh my gosh, now I love Mervin even more. I am just praying his partnership with Marissa continues to head in the right direction. It was such a shame that he had the concussion this past summer. I'm sure we don't even know the half of what all these skaters go through. Believe in yourself Mervin! We do!

Well, a bronze for Cain/LeDuc at Zagreb and a 6th place finish, 5th in the free, for Stellato/Bartholomay. S/B are gelling awfully fast for a new team, although I'm concerned about (IMO) their lack of chemistry on the ice. But I'm really excited to see what will happen at Nationals this year... especially with Denny/Frazier's return, Kayne/O'Shea having a rough season, and Alexa and Chris being out so much due to illness. There could be some surprises.

Really looking forward to pairs at Nationals this year. It should be pretty interesting. I thought Denny & Frazier looked good at Skate Am and Skate Can -- especially considering at Sk Can that it was back to back events. For me, they have a wonderful charm on the ice. Don't forget about Marissa and Mervin too!

Thanks for this! He is so transparent sharing this and it inspires and encourages. Would never have known his hidden hardships of surviving in the sport.
