A brief summary of Yuzu speaking English.

Oda is imitating Yuzu here?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GozVXThOOw

Whoa, he got really fluent towards the end of the video all things considered. He kinda gave up on nailing the initial "r" in many words and that made him speak faster haha. Also wow, he can follow pretty fast english GO YUZU!
But he knows the important words: frustration, nervousness, land, quad and happiness
We haven't heard him much this season, but from what i've heard he improved a lot. His pronunciation of score is perfect  and i've noticed that he's getting the hang of dental fricatives :P something many in my country just can't wrap their heads around lol, even harder for the japanese.
My pronunciation isn't the best but good enough to make americans speak at their normal pace with me, i would LOVE to help him with the difference between r and l. And help him pronounce the initial r :P

Not only Yuzu is making it so hard for himself, but also his actual schedule is the hardest , if it's true Yuzu went back to Canada for one week of training .

He skated to NHK SP on November 25 th and will skate to GPF SP on December 8 th, less than 2 weeks between two competitions, while his main rivals rested; in the same period he flew from America to Asia , then from Asia to America and he's going to fly from America to Europe , which means 3 intercontinental trips and jet lag more or less in two weeks, while his main rivals will have one.

To compete at his best he will have to prove to be an alien once again.

I'm scared to think about JN blood bath, when Yuzu's intercontinantal trips ( and jet lag) will be 4 at least in one month.

I am worried about it a bit, but at the same time, the situation was equal last year - NHK, Canada, GPF in Europe. And skated world record scores six times in just two weeks. Unbelievable.:dance2:

I've been trying my hand at some phone wallpapers lately.
So far these three are the only ones that don't seem to get shredded by random tumblr resizing :palmf: good thing I started posting there. You can never have enough annoyances in your life.

Yamato Tamura's words about Yuzuru's NHK achievement. [×]

On the men’s side, Hanyu-senshu won by scoring over 300 points. And Tanaka Keiji-senshu also made it onto the podium.
With his abilities, his victory seemed nearly a given, and qualifying for the Final and scoring what he did despite injuries was truly something else.
If it were any other regular skater, a big mistake at just one competition would eliminate roads to qualification.
Defending your title and qualifying for the GP Final is a challenging ordeal, but he made it look so easy, which is what makes him incredible.

Oh, I discovered that some people Ctrl C+Ctrl V materials from this thread to other platforms without proper credits. :dumb:

Whoever that decides to do so, if you see this message, I really appreciate your effort and wouldn't mind at all for you to use my translation to let others know more about him.

But my translations are based on substances from really generous fans that put in time and money to share the information, so I hope that you may spare some time to actually give credits to everyone involves.

I'll make sure that I provide clearer and more obvious credits next time by bolding them.

Edit: I'm not pissed! And please do continue to share information related to Yuzuru as long as credits are given!

No, it's actually different.

After moving to Canada, Yuzuru competed at NHK in seasons 2012, 2014 , 2015, 2016 while the GPF was in Russia in 2012, in Barcelona in 2014 and in 2015 and will be in France next week.

As far as I know Yuzu never went back to Canada in the very short period of time between NHK and GPF, but broke two world records last year in Barcellona, while the year before he showed for the first time a fixed 4S , just a bunch of weeks after COC accident.

Actually it seems he 's in Canada for one week of training which will cost him to face a much harder schedule than his main rivals, that is two competitions and 3 intercontinental trips in two weeks. It's the first time it happens out of 4 seasons.

After GPF Yuzu will have to face at least another intercontinental fly to compete in JN on December 23 and 24 , so it will be 4 jet lags and 3 competitions in about one month. Is it enough ?

Javier is in New York now for an ice show so no, Yuzuru is not the only one with a packed schedule.

And frankly I think after years of flying around, Yuzuru has gotten quite used to jetlag. Not to mention he is a night owl.

Something I can never understand that why Japan's Nationals has to be held on December:confused:

That’s probably because in Japan, there are many competitions scheduled in January (e.g. Intercollegiate championships right after the new year’s holiday, Inter-highschool championships in mid to late January, National Spots Festival at the end of January.) It’s always a little bit tough for GPF qualifier in Japan. Hope Yuzu will stay healthy all through December this year…

Lol yes. I meant, IF yuzuru is in Canada, that means he has to. He actually has a choice to stay in Japan and minimize his jet-lag/travel time issues to decrease fatigue, but if he decided to go back, that mean there was really something he had to do that cannot be done in Japan. It could be choreography, it could be layout or it could be him tuning his jumps or something else. We don't know.
Meanwhile someone like Nathan Chen doesn't have a choice but to return home and then flying to Europe again the next week. So basically nathan, yuzuru (if he is in canada now) and Javi has the same disadvantage here.

Not in terms of time zones. Nathan and Yuzuru are but not Javier. He's had plenty of time to acclimate and NY and Toronto are in the same time zone. But I don't think all the hopping is a problem for Yuzuru or they wouldn't have done it, so I am sure it's fine.
