Sr Men's op will start at 10:35am tomorrow. You don't have to be there at 6am as you can walk in anytime as long as you have purchased the practice ticket; but if you wanna a good seat for watching practice, then maybe a little bit early. :otopic:But honestly speaking, who can get up any earlier than Japanese fans? I mean, last year at the Autumn Classics I arrived the venue around 5:30am, all front rows had already gone.
can i buy practice ticket tomorrow if i arrive at the venue before men sr practice start? i counld not go to see the practice today

GPF – 07.12.2016

Video of Yuzuru arriving from Japan news

Another video of his arrival. Looks like he arrived at the same time with the Chinese pairs. Saw Yu/Zhang and maybe Peng/Jin is there too

Medvedeva wishing Yuzuru a happy birthday!

Cute Yuzuru in Airport
Casual Yuzuru
Cool Yuzuru

Here's a rough translation.

The plane delayed due to weather conditions in Munich, arriving at marseille at 10pm. When asked about the unexpectedly long flight duration, Yuzu laughed: "I have fun playing games as much as I like. It's been long for me to do so."
“Surprisingly I don't expect the need for the 4th win, and I think that this is nice. I felt pressured last time as it was the first ever three consecutive GPF wins, especially after the fantastic results I achieved in NHK. Without the tremendous pressure this time, I am very excited over the opportunity to renew my own record."
“I am confident in my performance. My focus is to adjust my condition after NHK. I have gone through thorough practice, so I am relaxed and fully trust myself."
"I am happy to compete in the GPF and celebrate my birthday every year."

I took a few photos, and I hope to take many more over the next few days. I won't really sort/upload them til I get home, but here's a little something from today:

GPF News and Translations

Other interviews (Source: 羽生结弦应援站YUZURINK)

Rough rough rough translation

1. "I believe, as long as I focus on what I should be doing, the path ahead will naturally reveal itself."

2. The plane delayed due to weather conditions in Munich, arriving at marseille at 10pm. When asked about the unexpectedly long flight duration, Yuzu laughed: "I have fun playing games as much as I like. It's been long for me to do so."

3. At the time of arrival and the interview, it was exactly 0 a.m. at 7/12, which is Yuzuru's 22th birthday. Every year his birthday is within the GPF period. "If I cannot compete in the match, I feel sad even though it's my birthday. It's my happiest thing to compete in a healthy condition and celebrate my birthday as well." He expressed his joy for overcoming the pain of his left toenails and competing in such a huge stage for six consecutive times.

4. After achieving the highest score in this season at NHK Trophy in Nov, he said "The aim of my training (after NHK) is to adjust my condition", "My performance before NHK is not concrete enough. Now there is certainly sufficient training", showing his confidence. Regarding the first ever 4 consecutive wins for men and ladies single, he said "No pressure. It is an opportunity to renew my own record, so I am excited." He seemed eager for the competition.

5. Regarding the first ever 4 consecutive wins for men and ladies single, Yuzuru said "there is no particular expectation or thoughts of realisation yet", as if he was not aware of it. He said, "when it's the third win, someone told me that this is the first time in history, so I was nervous. But it has passed already. A new season is a new competition, so I do not have the burden of a 4th win." "It's an opportunity to renew my own record, so I am excited" He seemed to be looking forward to the competition.

6. "My feeling now is to win, absolutely. I will compete with trust in myself, and people around me"

Hanyu also talked about his peaking

"Orser's most important concern is to peak at WC next spring. However, Yuzuru believes that 'it is nice to peak at GPF too. I have discussed with my coach that the peak condition is not the most crucial, my average condition is. I hope that even if my condition falls, even when I am nervous, I can still win in every competition and give out a great performance'" Source: mainichi.jp

Our boy knows what's best for him!

His interview with nikkan sport after practice is soooo chill

He said he pays big attention to atmosphere of the venue this year even more because he wants to reach spectators hearts. This venue is closer to audience than NHK so he doesn't want to "over perform" ? make too much face expressions, that he wants to use all contrasts. Also he said he has managed to build a bit of construction of program in his mind, location of jumps, stsq. spins chsq and so on, now he needs to put it all together...

There were some problems on lo and sal mostly on edge jumps, the ice is soft and other athletes also had same kind of problems mostly on edge jumps. Yuzu " Its kind of subtle feeling, having difficulty on creating good axis for jumps, so there are some problems, On the other hand , on positive note, skating itself is going very smooth"

This beautiful feather cake made by a Japanese fan to celebrate Yuzu's birthday.

I saw so many beautiful handmade cakes and artwork/crafts on twitter. Maybe I'll do a roundup post later but here's another really cute cake. They had a party/get together. Some more pictures from their party.

Nam was wearing the 24HR TV charity shirt in one of his recent snapchats Wonder if Yuzu gave it to him as a gift.

Happy Birthday Yuzuru! All the best for the Grand Prix Final

I read two interesting reports by Yutaka Nagakubo, photographer (he is recently called "先生じゃない方 Sensei janai ho” - the one not coach )

NHK Report No. 1

http://headlines.yahoo.co.jp/hl?a=20161203-00000082-spnannex-spo

He heard his colleague saying "The best shot of Hanyu-senshu's SP this season may be Zusaa." The one he slides on his knee in the latter half. Nagakubo-san thought it was the name of technique. But actually it was just an onomatopoeia that Japanese fans call it

(One of the comments advised that its real name is layback knee slider.)

The shot with this article is the one right after he landed 3A. So cool.

NHK Report No. 2

http://headlines.yahoo.co.jp/hl?a=20161204-00000117-spnannex-spo

Many photographers failed in shooting with blurred images due to the air of excitement in the arena. The excitement of fans at NHK was more than expected by the professional cameramen.

Sorry, I don't have time to translate the whole tonight. I'll try as soon as possible, or could someone do the translation before that, please?

Still the 7th in Canada... Happy birthday Yuzu! Telegraphing all my support to you~ Best of luck at GPF, and nationals, and 4CC, and Worlds!!!! May you stay healthy and happy in the year ahead, and achieve all your goals heading to Pyeongchang Olympics!

It's 30 min till midnight here, so still 7th of december and I havé my last final tomorrow ( 6 exams in one week in total) excluding the non related exam I have 18th of december, plus It's the 4th day I'm without internet because there are some problems with the signal so I'm using the crappiest mobile 3G ever. Anyway, it feels like I'm counting the days in prison "It's. the 7th of december of 2016 and. ... ", basically all kinds of wrong, BUT I just really needed to drop by and say a quick happy birthday wish even though i'm terrible at these. So Happy Birthday Yuzuru, I hope that you will fulfill all of your deepest and craziest wishes that keep all of your fans going bald, both in skating and in life in general! :hap93: Never stop dreaming and "get even stronger" day by day!

Remember kids, skating always comes first jk i'm just helpless

So Johnny Weir was featured on the latest episode of Ice Talk. He was asked about his favorite competing skater, and he said Yuzu because he has been following since he was very young and they met at ice shows. He wants him to succeed and to do very well. He believes in him, and his skating, and he really loves to watch him :)

If they come all the way from Japan to see Yuzuru, they probably didn't sleep at all lol since it's still afternoon at Japan that day and their body clock was still set on JST

It's still the 7th here so Happy Birthday Yuzu! :hb: Have a great GPF! Have fun everybody who's at Marseille! I'm going to risk my mental health and stream the competition tomorrow

no, there's a group of them who travel together and take turns to get up earily and "reserve" seats for the group (putting down scarfs/bags and claiming an entire row is taken ==+)
