They were certainly short of money this time, so went for cheapest solutions. Ice, podium, medals, flags, flowers... everything. Why waste money on these skaters. And why waste money on organising the sales of tickets more efficiently too - they certainly didn't want any profit from it.

Seriously though, the local club soccer tournament has better looking medals :rolleye:

Yuzuru certainly deserves being adored by a throng of such stunning beauties. Even if it might embarrass him! :biggrin:

I can't even get mad about it because I'm too busy laughing. I won a bicycle contest when I was like 8 years old (hey don't laugh, that was super hard stuff, you also had to know traffic rules and all) and even for that I got a medal that was made of a metal-like substance :laugh2: it's just so sad, it's already funny.
 
omg this event...it really seemed like they were competing to NOT be saddled with those papier-mâché medals :noshake:
BUT good things:
1. the biellman! i've never ever seen him exit the spin that softly. loved it :o:
2. the ina bauer arms

I need to go back and watch but it seems like his entrance to the 3lz was not as sure, was it the ice? ugh. this whole event :drama: (Although ladies were great!)
Who's the genius that pointed a camera at yuzu while javi was skating? We owe you candies :agree:

It would have looked better if they were made of transparent plastic like at SC. Or if they were smaller. Here... someone called them cheap bar coasters. Which is the best description ever!

They could've gone with actual coasters. Then it would've been artsy-fartsy rather than broke-*** cheap :laugh:

I'm just hoping that this will convince the ISU to never organise another big event in France.

I live less than three hours from Marseille, and this whole thing has sounded so bad from the very start, that I didn't even bother buying tickets. I was certain to enjoy it more from my nice living room than from those horrible seats (with no backs!!!). And man, was I right to do so. (also, I know what toilets are like in these places, and I wouldn't have subjected myself to that, no matter what).

I love Yuzu, and watching him skate at last year's GPF (and even more at all these practice sessions) was one of the best experience of my life. I didn't want that to be tainted with that ugly and cheap event.

I think they made sure there is a metal thing on that specific podium as after Yuzu's expected jump they wouldn't be able to have had the ceremony for ladies. :P
 
I am so sad he didn't skate to his usual potential, but it is great he won. I am one few who likes his FS, not a masterpiece like Seimei butnit easily beats every FS of his between 2013-2015.

Anyway, he was so cute when he cheered for Javi and with Shoma on the podium :love: :laugh:
