Yuzuru Hanyu: 2016-17 Season

It's so strange we get perfect ice condition nearly every morning, first in the evning som rain (salty that is) than it's freezes....
And in the morning perfect slippery ice everywhere (and oops is that your bones I hear)
So why can't the people who organized GPF finale, make good ice???

Not only Yuzuru did not get a flag, my friend said: "Scott and Tessa got pictures with a Canadian flag because a fan ran and threw it across the 12 foot gap at them... No other countries got one."

4CC is for figure skating only.
During Olympics, the ice will be shared with speed skating, which is a huge sport in South Korea. I'm pretty sure the ice at that time will be more suitable for speed skating than figure skating..
Figure skaters will not even get any practice time on the actual competition rink. All OP will be held in a side rink.

I love it :love: I just have to figure out how to hang it without ripping the pages out... but I really like the pictures they picked!

Can figure skating and speed skating share the same ice. From what I remember the rink are scaled differently. They would actually go outside, much like sprint does in the stadium, while the figure skating would be inside. (sorry my bad english)

I'm unable to watch the vídeos, but based on the reactions and comment from here I can see that he wasn't a complete disaster but managed to win
Somehow I think this is the ideal outcome. I see that my wishes were granted and I hope this means that he is pacing himself to peak at World where he will win with a flawless H&L to smash his LP record, stay tuned. :dev3: :popcorn: a fan can dream

A lot of people are in love with his LP so for sure there isn't "few" people who like it. I actually said many times that I think It's superior to Seimei because the choreography flows more seamlessly and he's capable of capturating the nuances more.

Now I have the impression, considering all the GP season that Yuzuru is the most consistent of the top guys. There was no complete disaster with him, and he always managed to have only 1 fall at maximum or none.

Also, don't worry about the 4S3T, he's just reminiscing the days of the planned 4S-fall, it's a stylistic nostalgic choice to acentuate the contrast of pain and joy in his legacy; a visionary choice that can make any avant garde ice dancer rejoice in approval. k not

Everytime the infamous white pants appeared in my sight I remembered this particular occurence to minimize the pain.
 
It was definitely not a disaster performance. The first half was like a dream, even till the 3A1lo2S it was pretty much a reprint from NHK. Only the last 1lz was a shock, which is very costly otherwise he would have been scored close to NHK's score and we will see another 300+ in total.

To be honest, I never really watched speed skating. I think the Short track sharesthe ice with figure skating. The Long track has its own stadium. The Dutch dominates the Long track. Koreans are known for their success on the short track.

Which is all the more reason why this 4CC is an important event. They get a taste of the rink and the ice. There will be team event prior to the short track speed skating, and there will be OP which I assume would still be held on the main rink, maybe the evening before, because the competition is early morning for most. They may not get all practice at main rink but I assume there should at least be 1, it is like that at worlds too, I think. And unlike worlds, this event is spread out in almost 2 weeks (9 days) so they don't have to fight with other disciplines for the OP. It is doable, just a matter of whether the committee there wants to do it or not.

Ok, I see it. I'm used to the long track. So if the ice is not meant for figure skaters, would hockey ice or speed ice be better?
And would the figure skaters have a faster time in to the jumps than speed skaters crossing the finish line :)
