I really think he needs someone with him in the K&C for the results. Doesn't matter who, TCC is a big place, just find someone he's comfortable with.

And some people question their relationship ...

Ok, one more page and we are 3300!!!

Didn't the skaters and the short track speed skaters share the same ice in Vancouver??

4CC is for figure skating only.
During Olympics, the ice will be shared with speed skating, which is a huge sport in South Korea. I'm pretty sure the ice at that time will be more suitable for speed skating than figure skating..
Figure skaters will not even get any practice time on the actual competition rink. All OP will be held in a side rink.

you make a good point :palmf:

Well, the JSF or ANA need to pay for this. They can't just tag along you know, there will be many $$$ involved in doing this. Travel expenses, accommodations and they need to be paid too. I doubt JSF would want to spend money on things like this though (just for the sake of accompanying Yuzuru in the KnC), so probably it should be ANA. I am pretty sure the one who paid for Kikuchi-San, Shirota-san, the bodyguard (and maybe occassionally Yuzuru's mom) to various competition is ANA, not JSF. Kobayashi-san is there actually, so there is probably an agreement about what happened if Brian's kid skates back to back, since she could have accompanied Yuzuru but she didn't
Tracy is there working as a broadcaster, not his coach, so she could not accompanied him.

If Yuzuru doesn't want anyone other than Brian (and maybe Tracy if she isn't busy with broadcasting) then it's his choice.

True but that guy, whose name I still don't know, who was there for Yuzuru after Boston too, I am certain I saw him on camera here as well. I mean surely something is workable, just for these big competitions, so that would be GPF and World's, as he's covered during Olympics. Two events annually doesn't seem like much and I don't know if Javier ever ends up alone? but this person could cover all of Orser's students if such a thing happens.

Wait. I missed that. So Yuzuru stated this somewhere? If so, then it is his choice and that's that.

Grishlain? His expenses still need to be paid for. Maybe Yuzuru, ANA and his team are the one who don't find it necessary to spend more $$$ just to have someone accompanying him in the KnC. Otherwise he would have asked for it and I am pretty sure ANA would give it to him, considering he travels with Kikuchi, Shirota and a bodyguard already.

I think so too. I assume it is Yuzuru himself who is fine with the arrangement, otherwise he could have asked Shirota-san or Kobayashi-san to sit with him. Wilson used to sit with him when Brian was busy, so yes I do think he would prefer coaches/choreographers to accompany him in the KnC otherwise he would just prefer to sit alone.

I am guessing they mean that if it bothered Yuzu then he would have arranged already for someone to sit with him in the kiss n cry. This situation has happened before, and most likely will again, so if he was bothered by it then he would have already made arrangements for this.

Yuzu is a big boy; he's perfectly capable of handling himself alone in the K&C -- as long as he has his pooh with him, of course.

That said, I'm sure any of those Russian lovelies would be delighted to keep him company.

I honestly have no idea if that's his name or not but he does tag along already so someone's covering it, TCC presumably. And yeah I am sure he would though personally I still think it matters. As you say he may not think it's worth spending the money for example, which would not surprise me one bit considering how he is, but it doesn't mean it would be a bad idea. Ah well, it's how it is I guess.

One other thing about the K&C: I recall an interview with Brian from many years ago where he was critical of skaters who have anyone other than their coach sitting with them. My guess is that he's probably mellowed a bit about that now -- Javi has others sit with him -- but I can see where a coach might feel disrespected by a skater doing that.

I still don't get it. Why does it matter if he is sitting alone at K&C?
Wait, he is never alone. He has Pooh with him. :laugh2:

3300, just in time to be happy for his fourth back to back GPF gold! :)
BTW, more than 400 k views of his SP on Youtube in 2 days (well, without counting all the others available videos of the same program...). A rockstar, indeed! :yahoo:

For those wondering why TDF and GPF is so messy, I found this on tumblr

from http://theyoungprinceandprincess.tumblr.com/post/154296276589/bompard-we-achieved-what-we-wanted-to-achieve

**IN CASE ANYONE WHO DIDN’T KNOW WANTS TO KNOW WHY TROPHEE ERIC BOMPARD STOPPED BEING TROPHEE ERIC BOMPARD AND WHY TROPHEE DE FRANCE AND THE GPF IN MARSEILLES HAS DISCO PODIUMS AND CARDBOARD MEDALS ENCASED IN PLASTIC.**

Sponsoring the French leg in the Grand Prix Series for 17 years made Eric Bompard’s name a famous one in the world of figure skating, although the man himself remained mostly unknown. Bompard has decided not to sponsor the event this year. He, nonetheless, agreed to answer icenetwork’s questions about what led him to support the Trophée for so long – and why he decided to stop.

Icenetwork: What made you decide to stop?

Bompard: In 2014, the Trophée was forced to leave Paris, as the arena was undergoing major construction. We moved to Bordeaux. We understood and accepted (it). The arena was not ready on time, and it was empty. Then in 2015, they said it would be held in Bordeaux again, although the Paris arena had reopened. The competition was cancelled halfway (through), after the terrorist attacks in Paris – except all the funds we had given were not cancelled at all! None of it came back to us.

Throughout last spring, we tried to figure out whether the Trophée would take place at all in 2016, after these two years. We inquired with the French federation. I suppose that people then were focusing on the ISU elections (where Didier Gailhaguet, the president of the French Federation of Ice Sports, was one of the candidates). Nothing came back. We wrote at the start of the summer to say that it was more than time for us to make our own decision and commitment. We got no answer. We couldn’t wait any longer, so I decided that we had done our time.
