LOL that is a good question! Since downgrades are suppose to get the value of the jump one rotation less. I think he literally just didn't get credit for the half loop. The value for a 3A-2S after the halfway mark is 10.78 and that's what is on his protocol

Why did it get downgraded though? Like, first of all, it's a half loop, not a 1Lo, so by that principle it should always be downgraded, but here he underrotated the half loop even more?

How can you downgrade a half loop anyway? A downgrade means missing more of 1/2 of the rotation. So in this case that would mean basically a non existent jump. Or are there other rules for half loops?

Now im back and found a lot of pages to read here!

[Photos] Magazine "SPUR" 2017 January

I love seeing his natural side practising on ice. P4 is my favorite
P1 P2 P3 P4 P5 P6 P7 P8
thanks! i wanted to read SPUR! P4 is nice. And P6 is also my favorite. this columnist Utsunomiya-san’s view is very warm. She describes how he was suffered and nervous after Worlds and how his team supported him to heighten his mental. But on the media day (middle September) he behaved like a king as ever, trying not to show such struggle. Further, she refers to an international judge (yoshioka-san)’s words. he is totally late for the preparation of this season because of the injury, especially, FP. Finally, she says he shall come back as strong yuzuru hanyu. All we have to do is just to wait.

Even though it's called a half loop, it is still one complete rotation in the air. Instead of landing on the skater's normal landing leg (so for Yuzuru his right leg on an outside edge), he is going to land on his left leg on an inside edge. In the FS you could see a jerky movement when he came out of the half loop, most likely from not get enough rotation.

Ah I see, got it, thanks!

Lol at the Yuzu meet and greet with the russian ladies :laugh2: And the pooh kiss&run was too freakin adorable :o: (This kid knows what he's doing lmao)

He's trying out some really pretty combos, maybe we'll eventually see one of those in competition

Thanks everyone for all the links and updates! :thank:

Interview with Yuzuru (he mentioned Tarasova here, I guess they were talking about his ex?). There is an interview with TAT too, hopefully someone can kindly translate this

Thank you for the trans summary @itiahs :thank:

A bit off topic, anyone going to the Worlds? Does anyone has an idea of how far away the balcony is from the rink. I'm debating on buying the cheapest balcony ticket or ice level seat ticket and I'm not sure how well I'll be able to see from the balcony.

I'll be there. I have level 1 tickets for men's short and free but I plan to play it by ear when I get there for the other events. I'll get what I'll get. I originally had ice level 2 for the SP and a balcony ticket for the LP if you want to get them from me. The website was giving me purchasing issues with my CC (called my company and the venue everything but nobody could figure it out) so I actually had to get a from to buy them for me. And then ice level 1 opened up so I got those but now i'm left with additional tickets, lol.

I'm looking forward to meeting more Yuzu fans! Despite the heartbreak in Boston it was really nice to meet other fans.

Hello! I just want to come and say thank you to everyone who give so many translations, videos, pictures and everything :thank:, I've followed yuzu's journey only from a year ago, ahhh sometimes I wish I had known about him earlier :)

I really wanted to say how much I love yuzu exhibition is so beautiful :luv17:, and congratulations for your 4 consecutive GPF win!!!

One more thing, for fans who can't watch the links on weibo (I couldn't either as I don't have an account) there is a Google Chrome extension ezLinkPreview it works only on PC/desktop, there is no available for mobiles, in case you'd like to try it, once you installed, just place the cursor over the link you want to see and an icon with the letters EZ will appear in the corner, if you place the cursor over this icon (without click) a preview will appear and just need to wait a little until the video start playing automatically, at least it worked for me for all the weibo links, I'm not sure if it will work on all computers but I hope it will be a little helpful for you :)

Welcome to Golden Skate. Post often!

One day out of the thread and so much to catch on! Just wanna express my sincere thanks to everybody posting and translating:agree:

Did Tatiana commentate on Yuzu's EX performance?
If so, what did she say?

My friend gave me the gist:
She gave him the music
Grishin liked the way they choreographed it
TAT said he deserved to win with the two quad edge jumps in the SP, which is historic
Then they mostly shut up for the duration
After she said he is amazing athlete and Grishin said that he even tried to save the exit from the axel and make it into a step
Then they showed him in close up and TAT said oh my sweetie and my dear human being

And then my friend said that TAT said the Japanese are thanking her for the music in the lobby all the time.
