Hello! I'm a new member. I've been lurking for a while and I've recently gotten into figure skating so please have patience when I'm not able to tell apart jumps or identify step sequences. I've been looking at guides on tumblr but I find it hard to tell everything apart :(
Anyway, since it's nearly the new year I've decided to join this thread- a new year a new start right? Hopefully next year I will be more motivated to work hard and aim for the highest just like Yuzuru!

Welcome and have a good time!!! ......And a Happy New Year!

Still hours from New Year's here in Canada.... so I"m wondering, since everyone here is scattered around the globe... what kind of New Year's things do people do traditionally in their countries for good luck?? And does anyone do them faithfully? I'm thinking I need lots of good luck so I want to know what I should be doing to give myself a boost going in to the New Year.

In Hungary, in the exact moment at midnight, we stand on our left leg and step 'in' the New Year with our right leg which brings good luck. I was so dumb today that I managed to stand on my right leg and step in with my left one...:palmf:
So I decided to wait for UK New Year (+1 hour) to correct my mistake  :dance3: Hope that counts!

Anyway, we eat lentil soup on New Year's Day which brings good luck and money to everyone who eats it.

Happy New Year to Canada! :cheer:

Welcome. Happy New Year!
Maybe this post can help you with the jump recognition. http://chibura.tumblr.com/post/155092378025/breaking-down-6-basic-jumps

My Japanese friend took me to the temple and fed me toshikoshi ("year-crossing"?) soba when I visited. I think she and her family does it religiously every year.

Ach, I really dislike lentil soup.... but I"ll try to stand on my left leg at midnight... LOL. I love that :) Thank you!!!!

Sadly, no hope of getting anything like that stuff in Japan...

Guys Happy New Year!!!!!!!. Ever since I discovered this forum and specially this thread I've been having a great time reading all the posts and discussions that take place here. Even if many times we disagree and might have trouble with this or that member, I think we are a nice community and I hope we can continue to support each other and of course Yuzuru. I hope this year it's full of happy memories and achievements for all of you :ghug:

HAPPY, HEALTHY and PROSPEROUS New Year to Yuzuru, everyone here and those who love him! :hap10:

There have been no updated news about Yuzuru recently, of course I miss him.
But I am also glad as it means that he and his mind can rest, unwind and recharge.

Wishing him all his goals and wishes come true! Please just don’t push himself too hard and we LOVE Yuzuru!:cheer::ghug:

It's 10 pm here in my part Mexico but many of you guys are already living in the future so HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
I hope this year brings lots of happiness to this fan fest and to each one of you who contribute to it. I wish to all of you a wonderful year. I was lurking for months before joining, and i'm really glad i did: YOu are the only ones who understand why i like this little baby swan so much and don't judge me because of it.
I am really happy that i found all of you, and thanks for reading my crazy posts, even if sometimes they feel like i am too invested on him or that i like him for the wrong reasons.
I really love his skating and all the joy it has brought into my life.

And of course, i wish to him all the happiness in the world, a wonderful year and health, so he can continue doing what he loves for as long as he feels comfortable. I miss him tons but i'm ready to watch him again with a smile. And i'm dreading the end of the season but i'm also excited to begin the cycle again :D

I leave you with some photos from the magazine i ordered. I want to scan some of them but i wanted to share my favorites with you, they were taken with my phone so excuse the bad quality. (A note on the one with LGC 1.0: I didn't realize he looked so tired at SC. Poor Yuzu :( )
Again, happy new year to all of you!
