He attended all public practices in Boston, but skipped the first morning practice at Skate Canada this year. I think he's likely to attend all practices for Worlds though.

He practised at the Cricket Club apparently during the morning practice at SC. He won't have another skating rink to practise in at the Worlds, I presume?
 
Thanks. So excited. Hooray but Yuzu's for workingness that I have more chances of catching him at practice :laugh:

I'm arriving Wednesday as well. I think he'll attend the practices, but I'm just wondering if we spectators will have any access to the practice rink. I was hoping to see more than just one hartwall practice with him. The ISU spreadsheet has the Men's Free Practice on April 1 now slated for the practice rink...

I think the practice rink won't be open for fans because it has no places at all (it is in a 'cave' under the arena).
I will also arrive on Tuesday evening so the only time I'll have the chance to see him practicing will be on Thursday from 06:20.

Yes apparently that's where he was, although he was at the arena for the draw earlier that morning.

I can't remember where, but I thought he also skipped a morning practice elsewhere in the past, but it seems he typical attends all practices.

I'm sure he won't! And I would be sad if he did before 2018 Olympics, he's one of my favourite Ski Jumpers :) As a medalist in Sochi, I think he's a candidate too. But I'm not sure what status Ski Jumping has as a sport in Japan.
Btw. Can a chosen one refuse to be a flag bearer? Or is it too much of an honor for Japanese to even think of it?

In Japan many things depends on age and hierarchy , we have seen that even at WTT Akiko was the captain for years because of her age and even WTT 2015 Mura was chosen ,simply because of age. So I strongly doubt Yuzuru will be chosen as a flag bearer. It will be the veteran athlete more likely.

If it's about age and seniority then Noriaki Kasai is definitely a strong candidate, he's a true veteran of Ski Jumping :) Though it wouldn't be a bad choice to pick Yuzuru, he's more popular I think.

Looking at todays jumpers, he could be a father to almost all of them :biggrin: :points:

I believe that Skate Canada International had morning & later practice sessions for all disciplines on the 1st day both this season & last season, & Yuzuru skipped the morning session both years. He didn't skip any of the main arena practices in Boston (& also went to at least some of the practice rink sessions). Since the only Hartwall session that's really early is on the day that there's no practice rink session for the men & the day of the men's SP (March 30), I would think he'd go to that session as well as the other Hartwall sessions. I also hope that the Hartwall practice on April 1 is reinstated & there's an open practice for the gala (Yuzuru is really fun to watch during those!). The organizers should know by now who the fans dedicated enough to come to practice want to see!

Or it's too early. The international sale of tickets is around October as I recall:slink:Still trying to find a way to purchase domestic tickets but seems really difficult
