The 90's and early 2000's was the era of music that I grew up in. (Although, I am more into 70's music now).

My favourite years were 1997-1999 but I'm very much into the early years of the decade too!

I recently made a playlist of the Top 40 most played songs in Europe in October 1999, if anyone is interested:
I can't help but think how different was pop music then...listenable, catchy, fun, not as sexist as today. There was a good atmosphere in the music scene back in those days.

Actually thinking about Gary & Robbie makes me positivethat even I/K actually will be able sometime in the future start talking again! ), Savage Garden (can't believe Darren went fulltime stand up comedian :eeking: he's an awesome composer! his solo songs are in my player even now Like this one:luv17, Cranberries (I remember when they had a show here I had such a blast dancing holding hands with complete strangers!!:dance & Roxette (I was soo sad Marie isnt able to perform now. They cancelled a show in September here in SPb I was heartbroken I tried to go to every time they came. I bet they'd have a sold out show here even in 5 years. super popular)

Imho russians are more inclined to like retro music (evidence are lots of Disco 70s, 80's, 90's shows are sold out all the time) Maybe due to the fact partly b/c here isnt the prime market when they're actually popular

I'm more of a Suede's. Too much drama from the Gallagher's brothers. Not so much a fan of Damon either but Song2....wooh hohh!

I'm a little bit older than you but I consider myself a 90's kid Maybe because I loved everything more in late 1990s than in the early 00s. I stopped liking mainstream music some time after 2001/2002 so this is why I always suffer from major nostalgia when it comes to the 1990s.

"Relight My Fire" is in my Top 2 Take That songs, with "Could It Be Magic" being the other one.

How ironic, given how great a songwriter Gary Barlow is, that my 2 favourite songs are both cover versions!

And I agree with you on all counts with 90s vs 2000+ music. I felt cheated somehow during my teenage years that was when I started digging in to 90s ( Pulp, Suede, The Verve, Supergrass, Mansun and RW)
