Jason Brown

Whatever his place in the start order, we know Jason will give it his all - and if he falters for some reason in one or both programs, he'll stay positive.

Not enough bling -- oh dear, don't let Rohene hear that! That is definitely blasphemy! Just so long as we don't go back to the Robin Hood look from last year!...Ok true confessions, I just watched Riverdance again (for the 501st time). Now that is a costume! :scard7:

#RiverdanceForLive

, seriously - his Nationals 2014 'Riverdance' performance is my constant feature on my to-go playlist, from joy to movement, musicality, energy and sharpness. Hope he'll channel all of that this week

Hoping we might impose on some of our Japanese reading or speaking fans to at least give a summary of this fan-art cartoon, featuring Jason (and Rohene.) Google won't translate handwriting, unfortunately. I did understand "You're number one"

Now I need to go rewatch for the umpteenth gazillionth time Riverdance.......

Per Jackie Wong, Jason ran his FS in practice, and though he went for both 3A, he fell on one and stepped out of the other. It also looks like he popped or intentionally doubled a few jumps, and that they've changed the order of the elements, presumably because of the injury.

Jackie's tweet has a link to his full practice notes, which list all of Jason's jumps:

Nah. I'm just looking more at the trajectory of things and really what matters is what he does in competition.

He just started jumping 10 days ago after not jumping for 2-3 weeks. It's not a bad condition. IT remains to be seen whether it will be enough, but honestly, he's clearly going above and beyond if nothing else.

True, and I guess if this is his first FS run through, which needs a lot of stamina, maybe it's not so bad. Tomorrow he just needs to get through 3 jumping passes. Hopefully that will be easier.

I'm a little confused as to the reported jumps. But presumably: 3A, 3A +2T, 2A, 3Z, 3F+3T, 3Lo, 3Z1/2Lo3S?

ETA yeah he may have to focus on next year, because right now I'm wondering if he'll even be in final group for FS, much less place high enough to be considered for World Team. The new selection procedure doesn't really help him that much because he wasn't at Nats, 4CCs or Worlds last year, and because he did poorly at NHK.

I guess we'll see, though!

Wishing Jason a great skate.... he may be favoring the landing leg during practice with the idea of pulling out all the stops in the comp (does this sound like a strategy? I wouldn't know....). Just so happy to see him skate again whatever the result! I think he is amazing..
