2017 U.S. Nationals Championship Ladies SP

Umm no way should Gracie be ahead of Mariah..even with a fall Mariah committed and sold the program all the way to the final note of the music. Gracie might have as well been a ghost for all she was giving out there after the mistake.

Yeah I thought Mariah was better, too. Well may the best skater be placed better during the FS. I just want the best performers--whoever they may be (including Tessa Hong, who skated beautifully!)--to win.

Agree. I think Johnny is overall being very positive and complimentary of everyone, but Tara is being more of a negative Nellie tonight than usual.

eta: And talking almost nonstop.

Yet they're talking like Ashley's skate was amazing. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed it and agree with the placement but I also know that internationally she would have been hammered for the 2a and maybe her 3/3.

I'm beginning to think Gracie needs to leave Frank just to get away from doing the 3flip in the SP. How many times does she need to blow it with that jump to change it?

Yay for Paige landing her 3-3. I've always liked her and wow all greens/positive GOEs. Nice job, girl!

Paige Rydberg: Very strong 3T+3T and 3F to follow. Great outflow of the 2A and alright spins. But she throws away the choreography and doesn't give it any meaning. It's just sort of there. I wish she emphasized the very clear beat in the footwork sequence much more.

Glad to be here cheering for Gracie. Hooray on the 3-3, but that dang flip! :bang: That did look like a real smile (of relief?) In the Kiss and cry.

YASSSS. DELUSIONAL GRACIE IS BACK TO KICK SOME *SS. SHE MUST BE B*TCH!!

I want to frame this post and hang it on my wall.

All those excited about Karen Chen need to calm down a bit. I love the girl's skating, but she's disappointed me far too many times. Gracie has too....but when it comes down to it, I would expect a better Worlds showing from Gracie than Karen. And I think Karen is probably the best all-around everything-but-jumps skater the US has got.

Will be interesting to see how she does leading after the SP (assuming she still does). Methinks she doesn't have the Polina Edmunds confidence to keep her going.

This program didn't draw me in at all. But good for her for a good and clean skate!! All green!
