Poor Mirai... rough skate... I totally agree with Johnny and Tara in this case - Mirai really, really needs to sell this program. It's such an emotional piece of music, and she just has a completely flat affect. Lovely dress and spins, as always...

Surprised to see people think Ashley is that much better than Karen.

Karen had the UR on the combo that went uncalled, but the rest of her jumps looked completely around to me. Ashley's were more of a question mark. Karen has better spins, bigger jumps, more speed. She's really a more well-rounded skater. I LOVE Ashley, but it's the truth.

Mirai is a disaster. "Winner Takes It All" is NOT a good song to bomb to when you're coming into the LP as a favorite and skating last....

She's skating with about as much fight as Gracie did. I really expected her to come out and slay.

Well they need to call the other skaters on it too then. That's all I'm saying. If you want to call her on it that's fine, but then you have to call the skaters with the same or more obvious URs also.

Tech panel not being nice to Mirai at ALL. So, what happened with Karen's UR combo? Seriously?

Not saying that Karen doesn't deserve the gold (she certainly does), I just feel like some skaters' jumps were more scrutinized than others, leading to bias. Like, come on, mark Karen's combo for review! They didn't even mark it!

We need Shin Amano to be the official tech controller for every single competition from now on.
