USFS sending 17 year old Amber (who still has time, IMO, and a lot of potential) and 19 year old Bradie to lose to prepubescents. Bradie had her chance last year and did poorly, winding up in 11th, and to be honest she was better at Nationals last year than she was this year, by a lot. Big mistake.
I'm interested to see what Amber does (she went in 2014 and placed 7th). I think she could be a bit of a late bloomer like Mariah Bell, if she's given more opportunities to shine.
Not sending Tessa is a mistake. She's the closest answer the US has got to Zagitova/Gubanova/etc. at the moment. She's no where near as strong as them, but she could be by the time they are seniors. Her SP showed so much potential. Her LP was a disaster because of nerves. NOT giving her more competitive experience will only hurt her in the future. :disapp:
I can why they wouldn't send Starr...her jumps aren't quite all there yet, though I bet they will be next year, but the competitive experience would've been much for valuable for her than for Bradie. What on earth is USFS thinking?
I feel bad for Mervissa, but it makes sense, especially in a pre-Olympic year and they can't go to the Olympics. Thrilled for Alexa and Chris, and I'm so excited to see their programs!
Ashley shouldn't go to 4CCs. Due to her age, I find it unlikely that she'll be able to peak at both Worlds and 4CCs, and a poor showing at 4CCs won't do her any good. She's been the Olympics before - I don't think she needs to test out the rink here.
