Hi I'm new here

Yuzu always lack in stamina so adding a new quad in LP mid season sounded not so wise, so why not add quad in to SP, coz in the past few year Yuzu seem tobe SP specialist type of skater, so the layout will be '4lo 4S4T 3A' is that evenossible and allowed?

Hello, welcome to our little corner!

Yuzuru's stamina is actually good this year, he's having other problems with his 4S combination but as to your question, no it's not allowed. Here, these are the requirements:

2. The Senior Short Program shall consist of the following required elements:
Men
a) Double or triple Axel Paulsen;
b) Triple or quadruple jump immediately preceded by connecting steps and/or
other comparable Free Skating movements;
c) Jump combination consisting of a double jump and a triple jump or two triple
jumps or a quadruple jump and a double jump or a triple jump;

d) Flying spin;
e) Camel spin or sit spin with only one change of foot;
f) Spin combination with only one change of foot;
g) Step sequence fully utilizing the ice surface.

A 4A cannot go to the SP, also not allowed.

Lol 4S4T is not allowed. The max BV of SP is actually doing 4Lz3T 4F 3A in the second half of SP. There is no way to go beyond that. :biggrin:

I think Jun Hwan was sponsored by a hospital no? It is not a KSU thing. I doubt JSF would do this, only ANA can pull out something like this.

I guess I always had this question - why is the second jump almost always a toe loop and isn't anything else?

Thanks for clarification re:hospital. ANAAAAAAA c'mooon do itttt!

Because you have to jump from the same landing edge of your landing foot for the second jump for it to not be a SEQ. Therefore, second jump could only be a toeloop or a loop because everyone land with a back outside edge.

I think the chance of yuzu adding 4lz raised a little bit more. And we will see how shoma doing with 4lo.
it's interesting, yuzu is on patrick's position four years ago.

It's natural in competitive skating. young skaters become vetrans. position change will occur unless they retire at their peak.
Young skaters have nothing to lose.
But the most surprising to me is the thing tech levels.. what we've said as joke happens now.
if chen skates like that everytime, he will dominate the scene.

At15 nhk press, yuzu said fulled transtion +quads.3A is the key he can maximized his goe. I still believe his ideal skating is that. so I highly doubt frontloading or simplizing. but curious if he add 4lz, how will be.

I love 1/2-loop combos (whether it's with the flip or sal) and love when Yuzuru does it. I want to see double or even triple "half" loops soon :biggrin:

If he add 4Lz he will have a higher BV than Nathan, even if Nathan do 5 quads lol.

ahh thanks for all the explanation, honestly I just in to FS last December so I'm pretty dumb about these thing, lol

You've got to start somewhere and asking is never dumb, on the contrary! :agree2: Plus you'll be here now with us for the really exciting times, starting with 4CC.

I mean not BV, but transitions. It looks impossible that 4lz out of no where. at this point of time, BV supposition is very confusing.

What do you mean about the 4Lz? He's been working on it since 2015, this is not new and considering both his and Brian's words, it is definitely very likely, so far from impossible. Not this season though of course, next one.

Not that I would know, but sometimes I have the feeling 4A would be a better jump for Hanyu than 4Lz. 3A is easier for him than 3Lz.

If...

The 4Lz is so out of left field, but I would love to see it because I bet it would be beautiful.
I don't think it is impossible. If I am not wrong, when he does his 4Lz attempt at that show practice video he has steps before that.

Definitely not. 4A is a monster of a jump. It's a giant question mark if even he will ever do it in competition, even if he's willing to seriously work on it post 2018.

yeahh, I can't wait for 4CC, this event will be the first time I watch FS and slightly aware with the scoring system, maybe I will get so much nerve like others FS fans

last year the only event I follow were NHK and GPF, yet I did't get any nerve when watching them, for me FS was just skate around the rink then jump here and there lol, I never thought that landing quads were so diffiqult and risky

4CC will be nerve werking for me, Go Yuzu!! \o/

I don't think Yuzuru is in the same position as Patrick 4 years ago. Patrick unfortunately did not push his technical difficulty and quickly he saw the PCS gap between him and Yuzuru decrease as the latter was pushing more difficult content out. Yuzuru is still pushing his technical difficulty by adding the 4lo and a 4th quad in his FS this year. I think if Yuzu ends up being over taken it won't be because he was stagnant but because the challengers were able to rush pass him in the jumps. Crazy how quickly a year can change things. And I'll admit I was one of the fans that thought adding a 4th quad in the free and the 4Lo in the short wasn't needed.

Yes I agree, that plus half rotation makes it so much more difficult. The axel is the king of jumps for a reason. 4A is not even a question, while he's been practicing the quad lutz for a while now.

my word out of nowhere is transition things, not possiblity. He always do quads through carculated turns and timing, so I haven'seen his try to replace to other quad to planned one in season or in competiton. one exception is world 4s3t thing due to his injury.
chopin2 is total refresh, though.
This is why I consider no 4lz this season. I think H&L is designed for this layout.

Oh I see. I agree btw, we won't see the 4Lz this season. For one, I don't think it's even ready, going by both Brian's and Yuzuru's words. Next season is a new story with new programs but let's get through this one first! But whether we've seen a final version of H&L, we'll have to wait and see.
