Isn't it funny how so many of us are giddy despite the 2nd place?? Last year it was horror, but that was a demonstration on how you win the silver!! He won gpf, yet no one was giddy like this, lol. Shows how much we missed his fighting spirit and how happy we are when he is happy.

it was because of 4s combo, but propably he has plans for 5 quad program if he was able to do it so late in program
I just know he has been practicing 4lz in run through. I am unsure if he will bring 4 different quads or 5 quads in competition. He seems to be healthier now, and stamina has become better.
I would stick with 4 different quads layout for my guess at WC.

The happiest thing for me now that he is such a great fighter and a strategist (and he has such great stamina) that he was able to do the 4T-2T and the 3A perfectly at the very end :yahoo: :hap85:

I was really shocked at seeing the changes in the second half as well. If he hadn't automatically added the single loop to the failed Quad Sal attempt, he could have kept his 3A+2T combo as well. Although that might be asking too much as a final jumping pass.

Proof that 4CC gold is cursed: 2013 - Kevin Reynolds, Not an Olympic champion, . 2014 (the year it didn't count) - Takahito Mura - poor dad. 2015 - Denis Ten - 2016 - Patrick Chan - bombed Worlds after winning 4CC. Not too great of a medal to have xD
Also looked at men's results from 2009: Chiddy won over Evan in 2009 , Evan then won Olys next year in the same place. Just sayin :))))
And apparently I was right about hanging another 3 silver medals in dining room, but this LP was the strike of the champion, he has shown of how much he is capable.. I think he will use this silver as motivation and do his best to peak at WC..
Now I think they will change something in LP layout, he might do 4lo combo, or even bring Lz, I have some doubts that he might go for 5 quads if not this year next year for sure. He doesn't look very frustrated because he has done the best he could do, shame , If he didn't do that stupid half loop after 2S he could have recovered his 1Lo3S combo on one of the axels but I will take it :)))))) He put around 20 -22 pts on table here.. if he skates somehwhat cleanish he is still unbeatable even with this layout, hopefully they will work out smth about that cursed 4salc combo.

I don't think the 4CC Men's FS is bad though, I've seen much worse. Some pro-Yuzuru users are questioning the PCS gap between him and Nathan but they're mostly ok with the placements. It all comes down to Yuzuru's pops anyway. A lone user is trying to stir fanwars in favor of Nathan but irrelevant, don't take it to heart :handw: A gracious athlete like Nathan doesn't deserve such fan.

I already left my thoughts there, but I need to say something here so I'll say that the current generation will make Worlds and certainly the Olympic season very interesting. :dev3:

For me the placements are correct, and boy, didn't Yuzuru went out for blood. I couldn't watch him live because I had some setbacks erhm bcz i'm weak, but I watched it later and his emergency!quad plus last 3A are my new favourite last minute backups. We all know that he's quick to change his layout in his favour, but this was certainly a gutsy move since it wasn't a 5th quad a la Nathan of a 3-3-3 a la Evgenia after a win was guaranted like in their cases; he had a medal to lose. Yuzuru might be an emotional skater but he can be extremely steely and mathematical when he wants to be. I seem to love every outing of H&L.

However, giving the current generation I'm already with early nostalgia about Yuzuru X Chiddy rivalry and mutual jinx.

Overall, a decent competition :cheer: Although I'm bummed for Chiddy. At least I have Sihyeong Lee, the churchy glitter cowboy of the night, my new son. Y'all better stan.

I question the PCS too :/
And I'm OK because of the pops. I got what i wanted: To see his smiling face. That means more to me than the gold.

It probably has to do with the quality of the skate  His FS today reminded me of his fighting spirit when he was just starting out in seniors. It's funny typing that as if he was an old man when he's only 22 years old.

Kiss & Cry:
Brian: Boy, that axel at the end, just another (?)
Yuzu: I was thinking about sal before the first axel because I sometimes did quad sal in the first axel spot but i feel a little tight...stiff so i'm doing 3A+3T and then i'm feeling good so i'm doing the quad toe.

So he was thinking about doing a YOLO quad sal after he popped the quad sal combo? :laugh2:

I didn't catch his talk with Brian at the end previously. It sounds like he wanted to do 4Sal after the first 4T (where his first 3A was), but he felt stiff and didn't do it. But after the 3A-3T, he felt good and so did the 4T. So much thinking on the fly.

Edit: Woops, looks like a double-post.

I'm actually finding this defeat quite motivating, because it follows a pattern. Remember when he lost to Patrick at SC in 2015? One month later, he had NHK 2015.

LOOOL I was so confused watching his skate live but it was priceless, when he threw that 3A at the end :peace:

Brian said " just out of nowhere" .... and I would have loved a YOLO combo there, lol.

He should just have an alternative plan down on paper so he doesn't have to think too much during the FS  I imagine if he could plan it out it would be littered with 4S everywhere. Just throw the 2S-1L-4S out there young man!

I agree, wouldn't 5 quads be too risky? After all, he made up a lot of point he lost with a relatively new combo (4S combo) with a more familiar one (4T combo). He didn't lose because of BV, but because the new elements are a challenge, another quad would be too much, specially in such a short period of time for Worlds. Besides, a 5-quad, 2 Sal, 2 Toe FS would mean he would have to get rid of a 3A. He can't get rid of his money jump, specially now that men seem to be forgetting to train it in favor of the quads

I hope he doesn't add the 4Lz at Worlds. I am too weak! Next year is fine.

Of course if he pulls it off :eekn:
