I'm a but late on the Hope and Legacy comments but I wanted to say something since this program is pretty much my favorite thing ever performed on ice. I don't have time to go into a detailed evaluation of it either, I wanted to a few days ago.

I think the reason it speaks to me is the theme of hope more than legacy. One of the old meanings of the word hope is more equivalent to confidence. I have had to fight through some situations recently and when I see this program it just speaks to me about a hope that is more than a simple belief but a hope that carries a confidence. The music speaks to me, the coreography highlights the music instead of the music being incidental to the coreography. That's my thoughts on this program. I could analyze more but I have had little time this week.

It was also this program (his NHK performance this year) that made me a mega fan of Yuzu. I always thought he was a great skater but Hope and Legacy got me hooked.

You could be the first person turned on by H&L - I've mostly heard disdainful comments about the program outside Hanyu fan circle, alas! Welcome to the fold!

Apparently, he's too youthful and ethereal to ever become King. He's Prince Charming forever.
We're just a couple posts away from 56.000 posts.

Isn't he the ethereal and youthful Ice King?  I think he's moved on from his prince title long ago.

Oh yeah, we're aiming for that 56,000 post. :agree:

To me Yuzu will eternally be the Ice Prince. Somehow i feel he's more of a prince than a King. (And the swan costume makes me think of a Swan Prince.)
The thing is, he is the rightful owner of that title :( i don't like it that they're trying to force it into someone else haha

Oh sorry, I've already stolen it!
Kingship is totally overrated and comes with a burden of having to rule and reign and so they age fast. :) Princes have more of a romantic flavour about them.
Disregard Prince Charles, please.

I think it's because SEIMEI had such an impact that perhaps many have expected him to present a program of that caliber, I mean displaying strength, power, intense and somewhat of a story line. But indeed, for those who see the beauty of H&L is truly wonderful. :hap10:

Even in normal monarchies, there can be any number of princes. Nathan can be a prince, and so can Shoma, Boyang (prince Boyang!!) and Han Yan:hap57:.

Wasn't this one the 56000 post?

Perhaps they've given the title to "someone else" because Yuzu is currently the King? Well he can still be a prince though. ;)

Yuzu is competitive and wants to keep the reigns as no. 1 (the only thing is he doesn't age fast). :hap10:

Prince Charles though

Practicing this multi-quote thing. Seems to work.

Well, you can have lots of princes, but only one Crown Prince.

For me, in all honesty, I"m still waiting to love H/L and hope that World's will bring it. 4CC came closer, though. I always love his skating, the way he moves and looks on the ice, his emotion and intensity, but the music has just not won me over. But, knowing that he loves it I overlook that to see the skating itself, which is beautiful. I love LGC (and his exhibition) enough that it still adds up for me. :)

He is not a prince, not someone who is almost ready to sit on the throne...he is already sitting on the throne! To me he is the Emperor because that sounds even more dominant and majestic than 'King'.

I still think he doesn't look like an Emperor... I think of a prince when i see him. So for me, he is the Prince Regent :D

I prefer Crown Prince... Prince Regent means he's basically a place holder because the real monarch is ill or unable to perform his duties in some way....
