So sorry for the OT, but this is a topic very dear to me.
Not that I'm aware of. I remember watching a synchronized swimming pair (?) at the Olympics (probably London 2012) who used... I think it was Liberi Fatali (FF VIII). And I know Kevin Reynolds skated to a Chrono Trigger/Cross program some years ago, but that's Mitsuda, not Uematsu (my three video game music heroes are Uematsu, Mitsuda and Shimomura, with Ito a close fourth). I've lived and breathed VGM for close to twenty years, my love for figure skating is nothing compared to my love for Japanese RPGs video game music. My piano sees more VGM than classical music.
I've been to *counts* six Final Fantasy Distant Worlds concerts in London and Paris, and five Final Symphony series concerts in Germany and the Netherlands. The Distant Worlds series features orchestrated (plus huge choir) songs from FF soundtracks; in the Symphony series the songs are actually arranged as symphonic pieces (a piano concerto in three movements, suites, chamber music etc.). Both "versions" of concerts are just awesome.
In six days I travel to Paris to attend the European premier concerts of the Kingdom Hearts concerts (with Shimomura in attendance), in similar style as the FF Distant Worlds ones. http://www.wildfaery.com/info/index.php/en/kingdom-hearts
The world premier is tomorrow in Tokyo, after that they go to Paris. I'm so excited! (and it takes my mind off Worlds, :thumbsup: )
Having said all that, *of course* it would be a dream come true for me to see Hanyu, or really, anyone, skate to VGM, especially Final Fantasy. Getting three Joe Hisaishi programs in one season is not the same, but we're slowly getting there. Maybe next year... who knows (Hisaishi has actually composed the score for a J-RPG, so it's not that much of a stretch).

I always experience a bit of 'cognitive dissonance' when I look at gifs like this. On one hand, he looks do damn cute and adorable, d'awww, just want to pinch his cheeks. On the other hand, that shirt looks tight on his chest, dayum.

Ok, but seriously, Road to Zanarkand <3 although if i'm being honest, i liked FFXII's soundtrack too
Or even better, Yuzu please skate to Yoko Kanno... She's my favorite japanese composer...

match made in heaven! I like Kajiura very much, but i don't think her style suits Yuzu... Cutest baby chocobo ever
(and baby chocobo=no smell yet! hahaha) For the moogle, well... he already has the antenna, we just need to attach a pom pom to his head

She's amazing. And so eclectic that I'm pretty sure Yuzu could find something that fit exactly what he has in mind in one of her works.
I didn't know she was from Sendai, now, this has to happen !
(Thinking that I visited Sendai for Tanabata matsuri back in 1997... the simple fact that I may have met a baby Yuzu back then without knowing it makes my heart flutter)
