It's the weekend, Fayruza. Probably many are going out ;)

I doubt your translation killed conversations. I enjoyed it so much, and if anything, I actually think it starts conversations and talks

ETA : :hijacked:
Since we just talked about TAT, I feel obliged to share this - her anniversary show. This one is where Yagudin skated his winter program and she of course watched with googly eyes

so she'll be mentioning him even more after this.
Good on him, he can still land triples! :)
And I know it's Sunday. I just miss the banter.

The thread seems to be dead today - was it me who killed it? :(

Nooo don't worry ! Your translations are amazing !
I can only speak for myself, but this weeked was the first one when it really felt like spring and I was enjoying the sunny weather more than the internet :)

Off-topic :
An english subtitled version of the beginning of the "spirit of the athlete" program has just appeared on youtube :

Well, this is probably sort of a preview of what Yuzuru would be like 15 years from now  skating to PW and/or Seimei, Chopin with triples  Yes I am glad he can still land triples, because I heard he lost all his triples already. If Yuzuru can still be in a relatively good shape like that 15 years from now I will be a very happy fan. :agree2:

Omg I don't even want to think abt Yuzuru 15 years later

Well, in a way, same with me.
I don't even want to think of Yuzuru 15 days later from now, let alone 15 years:laugh2:

Exactly, 15 days is already stressful don't even want to think in years
(Omg I will be 32 y.o in 15 years )

don't remind me :laugh2: two weeks to high anxiety and elation time, have to stock up on some good alcohol...

tbh in 15 yrs I hope he'll be slaying in some other field in addition to figure skating. He brain and eloquence amazes me so much I feel there is so much he can do in the world!

thanks fayruza for your translations, they are great! For a new figure skating fan like me they are really helpful to understanding the sport and commentators (and their quirks and biases of course... :p)

I suddenly can't math I don't want to think about how old I would be in 15 years :p

If I may suggest, you can spend your time watching junior worlds next week. It will get you ready for competition mood + it will be a bloodbath; and if you are not rooting for anyone, it would not be stressful to watch ;)

Ooooh that's a great idea, thank you so much! 4cc was the first competition I watched in real time and I nearly killed my roommate with screams and moans. I need to get used to the atmosphere haha. :p

I want Cha to perform well. :)
And I don't want to think about the worlds. Please can I have some more quiet days.
Have I ever been invested this much into any skater? I doubt it. Once upon a time you just took it for granted there were invincible people out there - and you could nearly always count on them.

Edit: RUS ESP people are less complimentary towards Yuzu in the long program in NHK 2012. Understandably, perhaps - seeing him skate his long makes me appreciate how far he's come in terms of stamina, projection and choreographic complexity. :)
But I'll translate it anyway. Just not today. Nor tomorrow. Nor any other day before Thursday - will be very busy then.

Yes, and there will be proper streams on youtube, if i recalled correctly. So you don't have to go look for streaming links. It is a pretty deep field for the men with strong Canadians, Americans and Russians, plus there is also Cha Jun Hwan, and surprisingly the reigning junior champion (Samohin) would be skating too.
It is actually more fun to watch competitions when you are not stressed out of rooting for someone  Ever since I become a Yuzuru uber fan, men's skating has been so stressful to watch

I would be rooting for him too but looking at the field, I would be more than happy if he could medal lol.
Also, omg yes, I feel you on a spiritual level! I have never been this invested and emotionally attached to a skater. Though Yagudin got me into skating, he retired soon after olympics, so I never get the chance to develop myself into becoming his hardcore fan. But Yuzuru is a different league and in another universe :dbana:

Anyway, fayruza, I thought you are going to worlds?

Yeah, no nails left on fingers to bite into...

No, I'm right in the middle of the term and getting away from teaching is tricky. :( And it's a bit beyond my financial capacity as well...
But there's going to be quite a crowd from the thread there! By the looks of it, they're getting prepped for it. :)

BTW, where can you watch the juniors?

the thread is certainly not dead because of you Fayruza! :laugh2: thanks for the translations, as always!

I can only speak for myself, too, but I've just been very focused on studying today... worlds still seems so far. I'll still be locked up in my room/the library for another week :drama:

I assume they would broadcast it on ISU JGP youtube channel? They broadcasted JGP and JGPF. Unless your country is geoblocked of course?

Oh, I thought you are one of those who are going to be there in person. :) I must have had you mixed up with someone else (forgive me, since so many are going, I can't remember who will go and who will not). But that would be good news for me since I am afraid the thread will be empty due to everyone watching there in person and I would be anxiety-ridden all alone  misery loves company

All right, I'll try to be around to clasp hands in sheer terror of expectation or hug in grief! The bad news is that it's my working days, mostly... and when I work, I work really late.

So you'll be around (counting on you now ), mcq. Yata's around. I think a bunch of us. No dead thread please. I need someone to freak out alongside with. :drama:

Well you set me to task with translations XD Plus I had to help a colleague with some analyses today. So I'm only popping in every now and then

I see! Everyone's got a perfectly plausible reason to ignore the thread! :)
It'll be my turn soon!
Right, it's nearly one in the morning, so time for me to go to bed. At least, we got to 3840 today...
