I don't know... i don't think Yuzu's proto hydroblade looked like that...
In case it isn't clear (because it is the internet and i hate misunderstandings lol), is not that i don't like her doing the same moves as Yuzu.
But they don't look good aaah, sorry sorry sorry but </3
The knee slide reminds me more of Johnny Weir than Yuzu though...

Yuzuru seems to have been conceived with a wicked hydroblade, I agree.
But once you get an idol, you can only learn from him/her by imitating him/her. So... Zhenya's doing that. I have to say, the attempts are looking sorta... cheesy to me. Not really what I'd recommend for a classical piece of music, anyway. :)
But she will do it - out of her crush for Yuzu.

I need something like that too... but sometimes it's not so easy to contribute to the insane conversations going on in this thread... I'm also too lazy to find things to translate :scratch2:

You just have to go insane and start blabbering about anything that comes to your mind. Vernal diarrhea is welcome here - provided it has a semblance of connection to Yuzuru Hanyu. :)

And i am okay with that because if i could i would probably do it too
But she even uses the same arm motions and ughhh no. It is so far from Yuzu... NO IT FEELS WRONG. Like cheap store brand knock off... I don't like it. Don't shoot me please.

I can relate. I just watched her performance and I feel like it seems like a sore thumb rather than an exciting move. One of the reasons is it has nothing to do with the music at all. Second, it's obvious she does it just because she wants to. And again, her constantly open mouth makes me crazy :gaah:

I just hope if she does want to show off, pick the right song to do it.

ohh thank you, it's really helpful :)

yeahh thats explain why I struggle the most to differently between Lutz and flip

It's actually not so hard if you look at the entry to the jump. If lutz it usually has a longer backwards "glide" and if it's a flip usually there's a 3-turn or other steps to get that inside edge.

It seems almost all my favorite have this problem. Gracie's flip kills me. Yuzu's flip has gotten better though!

50 more pages till 3900, if we have a couple 20 page days we'll be nearly there.

Yuna used to have a good flip (her go-to combo used to be 3F-3T before 2010). But I think as you get better at either flip or lutz, your other one will become worse. So actually Yuzu having a true flip even if the inside edge is so-so, is quite impressive already.

I have just found a music piece that might be suitable to Yuzuru, it's Prokofiev, Battle on the ice: https://youtu.be/xyDKezDLGTM
:hap85:

This is a fantastic choice and very fitting actually. It has great highlight moments and It's dramatic + it will suit him well I guess. :agree2:

I thought it was dance of the knights at first and that would be a bit warhorse-y

I have done my share of crazy things because of my crush for Yuzu  so i don't really blame her. But... Idk, at least make it better before putting it on a program? :slink: I have nothing against her using it, it's a cool move but... It looks like a half attempt, as if she decided in that moment "oh, i'm going to try and to it"
There is only one hydroblade master for me and that's Yuzu... I've seen others and... is just not the same...

I'm all for skaters doing moves because they want to without any other reason haha. (I am not even talking about the thing at 3:21)

I honestly don't know what I'll feel if Yuzu back using very classic very European music. The Japanese feeling of his programs has become his identity for me. I wish he will chose songs from video games or animes.

Let's make a list of Yuzu's signature moves

1. Hydroblade
2. Side lunge
3. That sit spin where he puts his leg over his head
4. Back counter 3A
5. Ina bauer
6. ....4Lo

Also these, to a lesser extent:
1. Donut -> Biellmann
2. Spread eagle sandwich

I am not sure i would like him using songs from animes... I get overwhelmed just by thinking of what the YoI fandom would say if he skated to anime music, is something i'd rather not experience
Songs composed by well known anime/vg composers on the other hand... I'm all for it.

I don't think anyone would dare to put all those in their own program  It would be too obvious

Totally agree. I find it really cute. She knows it's not perfect but she wants to do it anyways because of motivation and inspiration that she gets from him.

And frankly his execution of those elements is so perfect that I doubt there are skaters that can get close to his level ))))

A bit off topic but who else does a good Hydroblade aside from Yuzuru? I've been watching Boyang Jin and Jason Brown doing this sort of hydroblading in their programs this year but they never actually go low enough or hold it long enough to actually feel like a proper Hydroblade for me. I really do love this move. Anyone else has done them in competitive programs or does it only appear in EXs?
