 I guess I am really the kind of bipolar who is negative when everyone is happy and optimistic when everyone is doomed? :laugh2:

He will win WC. I have no doubt about it.

He will be skating to Hope&Legacy. It's fate. There is hope, and what we are about to see on April 1st, will become the legacy in Figure Skating world.

Straight from your mouth into the skating gods ears, please!
I'll survive his not winning, too. And I admire his pluck and his talent so much. He's very special...

I'm so happy to see that there isn't quite that much doom & gloom here as I thought :ghug:

Yuzu was AMAZING and the arena on fire. Also, that was the best 4Lo ever!! The call not to give him the combo was harsh, but I guess by now everyone knows anyway how I feel about the judges and tech people in general  so looking forward for the LP! Practices will be interesting, I'd expect some possible YOLOing :dev2:

Oh dear, I think I need to make my mood a little bit less obvious (it's half because of Yuzu, half because of a stupid music store), I'm in class and my professor just noticed  He just sent me a link to a Mozart concerto he thought I'd enjoy, I'm assuming in an attempt to cheer me up

I'm still also a bit upset (free virtual hug anyone?). My favorite of the ladies also had a tough sp (Laurine with a fall on her combo), but bright side: The rest of Yuzu's program was SO great. His step sequence was amazing, so fast and superbly done! So much fun with all the energy and expressions towards the audience. Fast spins as well and a great 3A.

I have never seen such a beautiful 4L, superb entrance and exit that just flowed so beautifully (I can tell you guys that the Swedish commentator, Lotta, really liked it as well). I'm quite sure that the 4L is my favorite jump now, and that execution of it might be my favorite jump done ever.

Oh, I just realized they skate on April Fool's Day.

Now, from my perspective (I've watched enough Olympic heartbreak for Cdn men).... I would be ok if he does not win this year as well. He's Japanese, but he lives here and has a Canadian team... that's just enough to at least create a fear of the curse somehow rubbing off on him... hence my reluctance to be overly disappointed if he does not win. Let someone else try their luck....

That being said, I would love a huge comeback...I'd rather he be happy.

I stopped watching after Yuzu, went outside for long walk with my mum and I feel better now :) I'm glad that we all are in better shape than last year ;)

It's sad, but at least 4Lo was the best we saw in a comp and 3A was amazing as always (I was a little worried after the 4A talk and OPs), I'd like to say I don't understand the GOE (It should be +3 from every judge, what more can be done with a jump???), but I knew it will be pro Javi panel :drama:

I hope he will have a free skate that he can be proud, no matter the final placement :cheer:

Haven't read any replies yet...

I am so heartbroken and mad and sad. Heartbroken because it's clear he will never get it together this season and I will probably never see LGC or H&L clean. I was so excited to see LGC live...and when he landed the 4S I thought it was over, but then he put his leg down??? Mad because they gave him every deduction they could possibly think of and then some. And mad because Nathan shouldn't be 1 point behind Yuzuru and Javi shouldn't have a near-world record score, I'm sorry. Sad because he looked so surprised and shocked at the score and that breaks my heart. I will still go to the free skate and support him, obviously, but I think after this I will probably stop watching figure skating for a long, long time. (I guess it helps that the season will be over.) I have tickets to women's but I don't even want to go anymore.

I don't care about placements and just want him to be happy but...let's be real, right now those are more or less the same thing.

BTW, we waited for Yuzu for like an hour but he took a side entrance into and out of the press room (even though almost every other skater took the entrance i was waiting at :P). I did see him walk up and down the stairs inside the press room though. Of course he looked gorgeous. But not happy.

Can I just say I feel like he was a bit robbed on the GOE for his 4Lo? I mean, that was just as good as his +3 4S last season, wasn't it?

I am not surprised at his taking the side entrance, narcissa. I am sure he is boiling inside and wants to be alone to get it out of his system, but has obligations before he can do so. It shows the huuuuge pressure he is under compared to anyone else there.

And remember, narcissa, tomorrow is another day. Have something good for yourself, rest, go for a walk, and then a good sleep. I"m sure you'll feel much better tomorrow and ready to go to the ladies. I agree with your thoughts on many of the scores today, btw.

I know, I don't blame him at all. I am happy to have caught a glimpse of him, haha. He was gorgeous <3

Just read some replies. You guys are quite cheerful  I feel better now. Hey, at least he won't have too much pressure going into the long. I just don't want to hear what commentators have to say about it :palmf:

Just looked at the GOEs and Javi's PCS. Uhm, they tried every way they possibly could to bring him down. They really, really did.

:console:let me give you a virtual hug, narcissa. I quit watching FS for nearly entire summer after going to Boston so I totally get your feel right now. Gladly this time he still has one skate to fight it back. Take some rest; we all will be fine.

Hmmm, it's his right, his choice. He'd feel he's defeated by a combo - so he will fight it to the bitter end, I think.
I don't mind the title, the placement, anything - I'm not disappointed in him. I do hurt for his frustration, really.

I agree. I don't think he will drop the combo. His greatest rival is himself and he will fight for it.

He will win WC. I have no doubt about it.

I have the same feeling. Don't ask me why.

It's such that I have a huge urge to march up to every judge who didn't give the 3a and 4lo a +3 and make them explain to me exactly which bullet points he missed. What more can he do?
