I was actually thinking in the darker/edgier music section that I'd love to see them try a Hitchcock type program...

Ooooh yes, that would be great... They have that ability to carry things way over the top. I think in essence they are clowns (in the artistic sense of the term) and they can express really silly/wild/absurd emotions with an undergirding of pathos and innocence. I think they are so gifted in this respect. They should not be doing cookie cutter programs.

Yes they have ensured that now. Thank goodness as both are excellent teams who have worked super hard to get where they are now, and deserve to go.

They skated beautifully, but am sad to say it was riddled with mistakes and nowhere near their best. She may have hurt herself during the warm-up, but I'm not sure.

Why were Valentina and Ondrej so pumped about their score in the k/C? I know they had a good performance but is it that their ranking with the other Italian's gives them 2 teams for next year?

Nooooooo! I can't stand more heartbreak today. After going up and down in happiness and sadness from he men's SP, I can't see Vanessa unhappy either. I'm now not sure if even want to watch their FS...

It was still very beautiful and they are still in 2nd place at the halfway point. I know what you mean, though. I felt the same way about Laurine yesterday. It was overwhelming and hard to watch, even though it was still the most beautiful thing going in the women's short program.

I see that continuing to rise too. Granted the next flight we get to the teams who probably should manage the score (roughly mid 130s for each) to stay ahead if they go clean. I dont have faith in any of the 4 teams in the upcoming flight going clean though for various reason. I think Liubov & Dylan might be most likely too though, so I am going to wager the slay count will end at exactly 12.

They improved their PB by 12 points and cracked the 200 in the process. I think that's enough reason to cheer already.

It was a seasons best by like 7 or 8 points from my rough memory, a personal best LP score I believe, and yes ensured Italy 2 spots which makes their spot in the Games completely safe. They also beat their teammates, who I am sure they have a friendly internal rivalry with.

Probably because it was their best score ever by almost 10 points (if you count total SP+FP they smashed their PB by 12 points). Why shouldn't they be excited? In this field they couldn't have expected to honestly do much better without others making sizable mistakes.
