I am so, SO happy for Shoma and his Silver medal today! :cheer: I knew when he nailed the SP he was in a good position since he's rather a FS skater, but that skate, apart from Lutz, was perfect! I didn't even expect he would come so close to winning, I wanted Yuzuru to win but after Shoma got second, I was a little bit sad... Too bad he and Yuzuru couldn't share the gold! Both of them would deserve it! Also, what a redeption skate after last Worlds and AWG, where he didn't deserve his marks. Today he totally did. Doumo Arigatou.

I don't have much time now just came here to join the party. :)
Many many maaaaany congrats to our Shoma for silver medal in Helkinki!!! :hb::yahoo::party2::hap85::dance3:

In my heart he's the true winner!

Hellkinki indeed! (Sorry, couldn't resist such an awesome typo!)

Cheers also to Yamada-coach, watching from home I'm sure!

That's just the most amazing thing, because it wasn't a hundred percent perfect, both of his programs weren't. He hasn't hit the ceiling yet and he is able to soar even higher. Gosh, I can't wait what Team Fluffy comes up with next year. Something grand and uplifting for the biggest stage of all, I hope.

In my heart he's the true winner!

Guys, did you realize that Shoma had the highest combined TES?

Agree deedee, winning silver is a glorious result for our intense tango master, but he would've even deserved the overall win! He has clearly made a statement with a few exclamation marks at the end here - that's for sure.

Can't wait to see what he'll bring next season! Unbelievable, but yes, he can score even higher TES with his current content and his PCS is likely to rise as well now that he's the reigning world silver medalist (deservedly so, because he has it all).

Shoma, I am so impressed with you - you're amazingly special!!!

So impressed with how well Shoma did here......WORLD SILVER MEDALIST!!!! That LP was great - I have no idea how he pulled off that 4Lo. It was so tilted in the air. :eeking:

I hope the rivalry/relationship betwen Yuzuru and Shoma is and stays friendly for the next season. They both did so great here and deserve the top two medals.

"Hellkinki" is a good typo but the prize still goes to instead of Lion King, someone wrote Loin King.

I hope I'm allowed a little critique here after it's over. I wonder why Shoma changed some of the positions of the jumps. Maybe it was my imagination, but I know that program by now and it seems he jumped at different places in the rink? And he didn't feel as sharp in some of his choreo moments as usual. I guess it is the price for skating such a demanding program clean, but for me personally, he has sold this program better before. Anyway, I would never had thought this to be the truth, but I will miss LOCO now that it's gone. But I can't wait to see what's to come in the next season.

:hap10::hap10::hap10: PARABÉNS .... PARABÉNS .... PARABÉNS SHOMA!!!!! (congrats Shoma!):clap::clap:

I'm so happy and proud of him!

Always UNO in my heart!!!!!!

:cheer:

Poor baby! He's probably fast asleep now.

My gosh, what a yawn. Looks like maybe someone needed to carry him back to the hotel! Once the pressure is off, I'm sure they all just crash mentally (and physically). What a schedule this little work-horse has had since December. Take a well-deserved rest now King Shomita -- maybe even 2 whole days off! You earned it. Wonder if he'll do WTT.

There are a few nice Shoma banners in the arena. One of them has a unicorn, I think. Maybe it came by special delivery from you?! Something indeed brought him luck! :)

Congratulations Shoma - beautiful! So impressed with the amazing growth he's shown as a performer and competitor since last year.

Shoma's nose was bleeding in the K&C in SP and FP come on Fluffy or someone give @Arriba's grandson a tissue.

Really?! Must be the dry air in there. Sounds like besides chap stick, he needs a special tissue box! No Pooh and no Spideys though, please!:agree2:

Amazing job to Shoma, both his programs were so breathtaking!:hap93::hap36:
I've followed this thread for a while now, but I was so happy I couldn't help but make my first post! I'm so glad I cheered for Shoma this season, and being able to see him smile at the last major competition was just so amazing! I can't be happier!! He's finally not third anymore, and congrats to him for moving up a rank in the world standings!

Going by the numerous past rivalries between Japanese skaters, I don't see why it wouldn't. :) The Nobu/Taka/Dai trio got along splendidly, Dai & Yuzu always respected each other and Yuzu & Macchi had a friendly, albeit short-lived rivalry as well. I don't think the Yuzu/Shoma duo will be the odd one out. They've all proven to be admirably classy and fair sportsmen towards their domestic and international rivals alike.

Yuzu's & Shoma's relationship has even advanced (now that they've once again renewed their wedding vows ) - Yuzu calls Shoma "Sho":

(What were the Icenetwork journalists smoking? The first time that the 1st & 2nd spot on the worlds podium were occupied by Japanese guys? Huh?)

Quote from the Icenetwork article:

"... Most important, I'll finish these championships with a smile, after the tears I had at the end of last year's championships. That's what I'm most happy about."

I'm so relieved that Shoma had a positive experience at Worlds this time. Now he can go into the olympic season with a lot of confidence. :yay:
