I love Shoma to pieces and I'm really happy he came away with silver, but I also gripe a bit about the GOE given to Yuzu compared to him and Javi. Based on that 4 toe they definitely were going to throw Javi all the candies if they could. But the universe righted itself this day in terms of placements. Part of me feels like even though Yuzu's scores were conservative to "make room", it was still better to go first and mark his territory. If he went later who knows how some of the later people (like Javi) would have skated. If Javi was clean it wouldn't have mattered what Yuzu did, it wouldn't have been enough. So in that sense I will take what we got.

They have their heads up their you know what. Not that this is what I care about, but they can most definitely milk a ton more money out of him. He's only getting bigger and bigger worldwide and across Asia before Pyeongchang. The new fans brought in by Yuri on Ice are flocking to him above all (and yes, I think this is a good thing for the sport with no disrespect intended). Despite how it may seem sometimes, I actually do like Shoma, but while he is a nice kid and a great skater, he's not a rock star who will transcend the boundaries of the sport and cause global mania. I think every sick child in Helsinki has a Winnie the Pooh now.

LOL I certainly did my part, twice over. I brought my own personal security blanket Pooh and when the men's event ended people would ask why I didn't throw it on the ice. I let them know I definitely contributed to the Pooh-rain, but that particular Pooh was mine! Now I'm attached, haha. Pooh-san got me through quite the roller coaster. And he *will* be joining me in PyeongChang, even if I had to buy another seat
