And I compare their ice coverage, their speed too. Overall Patrick's style is that me makes use of long glide on the ice. It is very beautiful and flowy. I mean it is very old-fashioned. It would be sad if the younger generation does not skate like him anymore. Hopefully Patrick can pass his skating skills onto his future students.
Javi skate big bit quite slow. His jumps give a sense of stability and secure (when he lands them well).
Yuzuru's skating is just very very weird. He skates in various circles and do not go into staight lines. It's always in the serpentine pattern, it's very complicated and hard to follow his direction. It's very hard to grasp what he does and predict which direction he will skate to. His skating is ever-changing.

Oh I like to watch fancam to compare speed and ice coverage too.
I think it is the closest you can get from watching live and know how their actual SS is like. But honestly I never bother to count steps and turns (and frankly I am still not so good at it); but I think it should be quite easy to see whether a skater has more 1-foot or 2-foot skating, even from official broadcast. But even if they mistake chasse/progressive/other steps as crossover, it is still 2-foot skating afterall, which means the more a skater has them the less mastery in turns they display. Many skaters gain speed from doing many many crossovers to gain speed and personally I kind of dislike too many of them. Yuzuru does many 3-turn as transition, at least this I can tell

Oh lord, gotta stop reading this thread in class. But I have to admit I wouldn't say no to a DVD with that kind of stroking...
I vote for a dvd with both kinds of stroking!
