4Lz 4Lo 3F // 4S-3T 3A-1lo-4S 4T 3A-2T (3Lz) - depending on layout for 7 or 8 jumping passes. No big deal, all the stamina for 3 quads in second half and all.... :slink:

3A-Lo-4S in the second half after the 4S3T tho :drama: that'd be the potential next CoD
I think it would require more adjustments in the layout...

Well, if they really shorten the time for the LP, then the 2nd half starts earlier - so there is that?

I think he might put one of the combos on the 4Lo. How easy is it to use the same quad for the combos? Pah ;)

:luv17: 3F!! Honestly I'm most worried about Mr 3F being taken out after the jumping passes get cut down. Maybe 3F will never get +3 but it'll get +5 XD XD XD

Well, another change to be made is extending the GOE scale from -5 to +5 so that 3F should really be left alone so that it can get that +5.

#JusticeForMr.3F :shock2:
It would be a shame if Yuzu had to take out the 3F after he worked so hard to get the inside edge clean. And after he basically turned it into a choreographic element with all the steps he does into it :luv17:

You know what woukd be really fun? If after all 7 jumps, he actually did the 3F as a choreo sequence... That, or a sequence of 3 3As....

true that! it both starts earlier, and he doesn't have to conserve energy as much! :3

http://skatedb.net/modules/skateDB/index.php?page=element&element=3F&orderby=p500&full=1&cid=3 <--- it's really ridiculous how a 3F can't seem to get full GOE on international competitions. Look how most of the top GOE's were from 05-10 :s

that'd be baller! :o but I'd be very annoyed if he really never gets full GOE within 3F lifespan in his layouts.

How about 4A 4Lz 3F // 4Lo 3A1Lo4S 4S3T 4T3T :dev3:

missing a 3A. :roll5:

I don't even want to click on it, it would just make me rage :curse:

After rewatching his LP a few times more, what really sticks out to me is how the 3F or 4S have such a beautifully extended free leg :luv17: it was one of those things that Yuzu often got criticized for, but look at that now. When someone has unbelievably beautiful jumps and manages to work on them and perfect them even more... :luv17:

I'm in actual physical pain looking at this. Also, no double 3A! He said even if he had a 4A, he'd do two 3As.

that's my exact reaction :laugh2:

on the other hand, he did say after Worlds he's going to take it all in and review what his strengths are relative to rest of the field. I wonder if he'll actually reconsider. :scratch2: But until then, yes, two 3A's, not negotiable.

I don't think Yuzu would physically be capable of doing only one 3A. his whole body would know something was wrong and just malfunction  and then he would have to 3A his way from the ice all the way to the KnC even after the skate!:laugh2:

I'm not sure if this would be a good FS music but I'm obsessed with this theme lately.

This exactly the type of music that i want him to skate for the free if not just for the sheer drama of it. A clean skate to score like this from him at the Olympics would be just transcendental, would we even be worth of it? It could be a similar moment to what a program like Yagudin's The Man in the Iron Mask would look like in this era. And it wouldn't be a repeat of something he's done before, depending on the choreography of course but I trust Shae Lynn, while still not deviating from what he can do the best. If we think about dramatic skates, he's done the romantic/emotional drama (R&J 1.0), the mysterious/magical drama (SEIMEI), but not yet the celestial war drama. For the record, these are my classifications, so bear with me. Of course it would be an ambitious choice because a failed skate to a score like this could be shooting himself on the foot but I believe it isn't in Hanyu's case because even with a not so ideal beginning, I can see him pulling up for a terrific ending as he usually does and making justice to the intensity of the program. I also agree that the chances of him choosing something like tango, flamenco deliver me from both, thanks, jazz or any of the sort is absolutely slim since Olympic season is just not one for taking stylistic risks. And other option would be intense violin, piano or a mix of both as me and someone else discussed here before, mentioning Ludovico Einaudi songs.

For the short program I would choose something elegant and fiery like Yuna's Danse Macabre, not this song though, just in a similar style. I'm mentioning other skates only because I'm terrible at searching music, so I'm better at choosing programs with a similar feel to what I'm trying to convey

To finalize, since I am and always will be a sucker for quieter pieces, the exhibition would be something like Mao's Jupiter, which is one of my favourite programs ever. And it could convey both the feeling of the conclusion of a journey and the start of a new chapter, bringing again the theme of hope, as this will be most probably his second and last Olympics, and making me absolutely dehydrated nearby a pool of tears independent of his results there.

He could also use rock/blues again (even better if indie rock) or something more pop for an SP but I just didn't choose it as he used it just this season and in Sochi, but I wouln't mind it. I would also be pleased if he comes up with something completely different and makes it work. And, of course, usually I would also love something even more lyrical and classical in a short program for example but for the Olympics, based on what we've seen till now and considering public appeal, what I said earlier would be my choices.

One more stupid myth that people who have no idea about dance and performing art use to attack Yuzuru. The truth is NONE of the top men is anything near "balletic". Even Patrick and he has the most adequate posture among them already. By the way, going to ballet lesson does not make you balletic, mind you.

Agreed. Patrick is not. Nathan is the closest because he has proper ballet port de bras but because he needs to improve his skating skills, his lower body movement is lacking. I don't know how to explain it in skating terms but in ballet terms I would say his feet don't look grounded on the ice and he needs to work on his plie (work his knees more) to give him more fluidity. It makes him look clunky.

And LOL to people criticizing Yuzu by calling him "not balletic". I won't say any more on this as I'll probably rant for a few pages.

On Yuzu and the types of programs he can do, I think he is very versatile. If people are calling Shoma's FS this season a tango (and it is nowhere near a true tango whether ballroom or Argentine), then Yuzu can definitely do "tango" if I look at his step sequence in Seimei and the beginning of his Change Ex. He can also do jazz. Watch LGC with the sound on mute, put on "Stepping Out With My Baby" and you will see.

My dream music for him is extremely risky and I know he can't ever do it but it would be an SP with only shamisen music like the beginning of his Change Ex. The only sound would be the strings and his blades on the ice during long pauses with the variation in rhythm, speed and tones of the shamisen driving the program. His skating would literally become a part of the music. I don't think it would be something many people would like though.

He'd do a 3A as part of his step sequence. How's that for Level 4s?

Yeah, it would be really risky as an SP but it'd be super different from everything else, at least! Less risky would be to use it as an EX. I love Change only during this part, tbh. I've always wanted a full version with shamisen music. Like this.

I wouldn't mind a rant....:slink:

I love the shamisen idea because I love Change. I wonder if he'd do an EX with that... Doing it as a competitive program would be too risky, but why not an EX? :luv17:

Do you live in my mind? Why do we always seem to write the same things?
