Yulia Lipnitskaya

Yulia....:sad4: Retiring or not, I wish you all the happiness in the world.

Well, I think Yulia was kind of the guinea pig of the Olympic experiment. There's just rumours about this and that, and we'll never know the truth - but right now it's pointless anyway. For me, I would love to see her skating the competition for her life and retiring happy, because I can only imagine what it feels to go through everything she's been through. If the answer is to stop right now, so be it. I'll be watching her videos and remembering the times she smiled like the world was pink and all the stars were aligned - the SP at Rostelecom last year as an example. I don't care about the rest. If she has to move on to be able to LIVE, she should.

No medal will free your spirit and your soul. Maybe it's time for us to accept that she might need to be set free.

Yes, she said "реанимация", which means "resuscitation department" or "reanimation" (also life support department in general)...Sounds rather bone-chilling.

However, discussing this info on Russian FSO forum, we've decided that Vaitsekhovskaya just expresses her opinion saying that Yulia won't be back. As to the condition of Yulia's health, at the moment she might have some information about it. Some insider has already mentioned that Yulia has been in the hospital for three months since the beggining of January. But here is some kind of discord with the info from Vaitsekhovsakaya who says that Julia was put into resuscitation department some days afther the competitions and had spent three months in the hospital for the time being (the last competition for Yulia were in November, 2016, Rostelecom Cup). But it can't be true. As we know, Yulia underwent some medical examination and then returned to Sochi to get prepared for the Nationals. After it she got that sudden unexpected off-ice hip injury...
The situation is unclear. A lot of rumours of different kind...The more we think the less we understand. Let's hope for the official version from the Fed. It shall come soon, as the season is running to its end.

i'm so heartbroken reading all the updates. i just become fan of her only since several months ago, but this young lady has my love and best wishes. I hope the best for her.

yes, i do. and i'm bitter about cbc commentary version of her fs. They talked about eteri's interview and it's not good. I wonder she seems older in junior day than 13/14 season hahaha.
Oh i need distraction from this rumour to calm myself. I'm just crying after reading posts above, luckily i'm in home

These always make me feel better. I think her true happy place is with animals.

FWIW: Everything is just speculation. Adiyan is close to her and says she's ok so at least there is hope that it's worse than it seems. :)

Oh thank you , I found it and read it all. I agree with you that its actually wierd that she would be at the ,,resuscitation" department right after the competition. Thats sounds too dramatic , as I was reading she underwent some check ups and nothing seriouse was found , then happened the off ice injury but again it was said its some hip light injury so hardly she would be at resuscitation department because of it. I actually read more of the comments to the newest post from Vaitsekhovsakaya and they discuss there Yulia again. She wrote something like that Yulia always hated all her coach and mother put her into and that she actually might not like figure skating at all, so thats why she isn't succesfull. Thats what I understood from it. But anyway we can't know for sure until Yulia will tell.

A lot of people are close to crying since Yulia is the brilliant which hasn't showed all the potential it contains...Would be such a pity to lose her! But, anyways, we can't do anything. Though, there is still a hope for us. It is up for Yulia to decide whether to continue or not. As far as it seems, she hasn't made her mind yet...Let's wait for the news! They should come pretty soon.

Russians are very melodramatic people.
They can even transform in tragedy the lack of ticket for the bus.

I hope she's fine but i'm a little bit worried about the lack of communications, since she was very active on the social.

I'll just wait and see. Also, I think it is only courteous to let Julia announce her own retirement, if that is what she decides on. I hope she doesn''t, but obviously I'll support whatever decision she makes.

Does anyone else wonder if Yulia has an issue beyond a hip injury? 3 months in a clinic for an injury seems strange, but if she is being treated for an eating disorder 3 months or longer is quite normal- last year when she competed in the Cup of Russia after Nationals there was the comment that she had to replace her FS dress because the blue one was too large, and at Rostelecom Cup a lot of people commented that she looked sick she was so pale (though that could have been a poor make-up job) and she had the leg cramps. Then she suddenly withdraws from Nationals and there has been radio silence about her progress or anything... I had a friend in high school who had to be hospitalized for an eating disorder and #1 thing they removed from her was social media because it was a trigger. Given some of the comments made by her former coach about Yulia during the Olympic season about things they had to do to keep her weight low and now the 'rumored retirement' with the things I mentioned above - it makes me wonder.

That's a reasonable question, but time tells us nothing. Bones don't always heal naturally, delayed healing is common. Multiple fractures sometimes heal at different rates on a single limb. For example on a leg with five breaks, four of them can heal normally and the other can take weeks, months, or not heal at all. Bone healing isn't predictable. There is an orthopedic sub-specialty for post-traumatic reconstruction, non-unions, mal-unions, and infection. There is even a bone growth stimulator machine for those who can afford. All fractures must be totally healed if she is to safely resume training.

You are right, but what is wierd on this is that they about that such a mistery . Nobody said any details about the injury or which would explain why it takes that long to heal.... isn't it strange ? No communication from Yulia side and everybody just keep quiet and saying all is fine.

As far as I know, since her fall Yulia has publicly communicated just once. You may remember she altered some phrases taken from a fan's longer poem, and set them into a poem of her own, which she posted on Ask a few weeks ago. This is what she wants us to know and feel.

https://ask.fm/Sunny_Lipnitskay

And if you ask ... because it is thin ...
And if you like ... because the soul ..
And if you write off ... because time ..
When it is cold, too stuffy ..

И если спросят...потому что тонко... И если любят...потому что в душу.. И если спишут...потому что время.. Когда то холодно, то слишком душно

ETA Here is NC89's translation:

And if being asked...because it is too thin...
And if being loved...because it goes into the soul...
And if being written off...because it is time...
When it is either cold, or too suffocating...

Did you read this ? I don't think so after all would Yulia come back to Sambo70
It does not matter. Laishev is poorly informed about the affairs of many units of his empire of sports schools. He is really interested only in sports combat. In a previous interview, he mistakenly said that Julia was lured to Sochi.

Yulia has appeared in her ask at last!!! *big sigh of relief*

She answered to the question about her health and the gossip about her health that "the health is better than the gossip" and that she hasn't been in resuscitation. She also said that "everything is still in process" (looks like she still undergoes some treatment). She said that she is neither in Moscow, nor in Sochi now, but didn't specify anything else.
