So what has Yuzu refused to do for them? We know he is stubborn, but how is he not easy to handle? What more do they expect from him?

So true! If he were to suddenly win Skate Canada I'd panic! Patrick Chan had better win it.

Lol Ikr. I feel like the balance of the world would be impaired if he won SC :laugh2:

Ok joking aside, since Yuzuru seems to be a bit superstitious too, I don't see SC+TDF as a long shot at all for a GP he actually would want to (I meant if he actually requested for it). So we'll see! But both SA and CoC is almost unlikely to him, I think.

So... CoR and NHK? Please, please, please?!

And Brian jumped at his 3Lz for joy!

This was one competition where they did not show clips of the coaches watching, yet it would have been a really good one. We are used to Brian skating and jumping at the boards with his students ( he really jumped high after the 4s3t), but I would have also liked to have seen Tracy. She told them in the KNC that she got a workout so I wonder what she was doing:)

If he gets NHK, CoR is really convenient and beneficial, imo. It is the first event too (so everyone would suck equally :p). Javi probably would want to go there too so less travel for CC team. I think the russian fed would love to have him too right? Their men last year is actually pretty deep with both Javi and Shoma.

Anyway if he goes to CoR, will you be going?

come on, 3Lz has been behaving very well compared to 4S3T. :)
If this is not the truth and nothing but the truth :laugh2:

I don't even have to travel - I'm in Moscow! :)

Well for example CMs- Mao was forced to do like 7897 cms because JSF take their part (40 %?) from it. Yuzu does very small amount like 5-6 yearly.
Also aside 2011/12 and 2014 after winning OGM Yuzu had least amount of shows compared to Mao, Daisuke.Look at even Shoma he did 40 + shows last year. For Yuzu usually it is Faoi , Doi and one small - so it is usually 20 ish

Didn't Brian openly speak out against JSF demanding Yuzu to do so many shows too? Or at least complained about how it interferes with their training and said JSF needs to back down a bit?

so, I always heard that the skaters free to do what they're want(quads battle) in galas or ice shows coz there are no judgs or coach who keep an eye on them every second. That why it's got me on surprise when Brian was there in Worlds gala holding pooh-an, is Brian always in everyone gala or the Worlds just exeption?

SC + TdF would be a good choice, but of course I don't know what is best for him. NHK + GPF in Japan + Nationals within almost a month would be a too much I think? :confused2:

Icenetwork.com: He returned to Japan for a few shows this summer. Did that concern you?

Orser: Skating is different now. The way I did it was different, and the way Yu-Na [Kim] did it was different. She didn't do too many shows at all.

These guys do a lot of shows, but as long as you can manage it and not get exhausted ... I was worried about the constant travel back and forward to Japan. He had a little injury and he had to pull out of some shows, which was kind of the skate god telling us to slow down and be in one place longer. We've been together a couple of months now, and I'm getting him on a nice routine.
taken from here Orser amazed by pupil Hanyu's skill, politeness

I had an idea, but did not realize they took so much money from their skaters. I guess him doing fewer shows would make them a bit displeased then... I know what cms are, but what does it stand for? I cant think of the term. I did not think they took money from that... wow. So, his ANA sponsorship has really allowed him much more independence from them, right? And Mao did that many? Wow.

yeh being with ANA gave him more independence , in addition he doesn't have any agencies so no one suffocates him like IMG, UFS does with their skaters.

I think once you reached a status you don't really have to do many ice shows anymore? The CMs/endorsements would cover all your expenses + make so much money for you. Getting 1 endorsement probably equal to doing 20-40 shows anyway. I don't think Mao did any but the Ice as of lately, like Yuzuru only did FaOI in 2015. When he only started as a skater I can sort of see why he had to do so much. He needed to get that $$$ to cover that training+competition expenses, so they didn't have a choice (kind of).

I actually heard that it is JSF (or ANA?) who does not want him to have so many CMs and that they limit it to 5-6 CM because it would hinder his training + he would not be able to put much commitment to it. Before this season, Nishikawa and Bathclin was endorsed by Yuzuru even without Yuzu filming any CM etc (they just used his image) and they just used his competition pictures, no? I think many bigger companies (like PnG or Lotte) would expect more commitment from their endorsers. He had to attend that Lotte promotional event every year iirc.

I always thought the limiting of CMs was related to both preventing the dilution and promoting the value of the Yuzuru Hanyu 'brand'. As in, too many CMs would seem like he just endorsed everything and their mother but doing fewer of them means he gets more enticing deals out of that. And I thought too that JSF approved of that. At least, that's what it seemed when I was going through the post-Sochi news from the Media Thread some time ago. But maybe I'm confusing JSF with ANA, idk.

Yes same. What I meant is, he can get more CM than he already does, but it is not like he can commit to it. Having to film for 10 CM each year, attend promotional event etc is kind of taxing and do nothing for his skill as a skater. On ice shows at least he would be skating so maybe in JSF or ANA's mind he would be able to maintain/improve on his condition/skill as a skater through that.

As of now, his active CM/endorsement include :
ANA
Lotte (Ghana chocolate, Ghana ice cream (not sure if still active though), Xylitol White)
PnG (Joy dishwashing detergent, Bold detergent, Downy, Febreze, Pantene (lol))
Ajinomoto (Aminovital, that nabe product)
Nishikawa
Bathclin
Phiten
(is monster hunter 3D still active?)

That is already quite a lot of commitment if he has to film the CM + doing photoshoot for the promotional material for each of them. :drama:
