If The Ice was full, then it is good. Yuzu does not need to accept it .

I prefer him to be in Toronto more like last summer.

He has zero responsibility to IMG so he can decline it without problem saying he has to prepare for season, just the way he did with Faoi last year, they expected him till the last minute. Agree, kind of rude from them to announce it in media before his decision, it does look like pressuring. I have no doubts about him doing faoi, they even reduced shows to 9.. and maybe DOI too. Faoi + DOI = 12 shows in total so it is okay, he can do his new programs in front of audience , he might want it. just the ice is too much.. I have heard their sales are quite bad for the past 2 years, so maybe this is the explanation why they suddenly want to invite him after 5 years of absence.

Really? But it is Mao
And considering this will sort of be her "farewell"shows, I think it will sellout like hotcakes this year. The Ice is a lotte event so I kind of understand why they want to invite him, but since it is kind of a goodbye show for Mao, I'd think Yuzuru might decline, no? Since it should be all about her.

Anyway, FaOI is late May and even for that they have yet to confirm Yuzuru's attendance. It is as if he is really not planning on going to ice shows or something? :scratch2:

:agree: and he could be practicing 4Lz or 4A:dev3:

I don't think it is really bad if he does a limited number of shows and tries his new programs in front of the audience.

Well, I am selfish. I want to see his new programs ASAP :palmf:

I agree, one of the reasons why it was a bit hard for him this season was late preparations and not performing in front of the audience. Testing new programs and doing 10-15 shows are fine enough.

If he doesn't mind I think it's ok. More show he does more video we could see from him..:yes2: well, I'm selfish too :slink:

Yes, to calm the summer draught  I hope if he does shows it will be because he wants, not because he feels he has to attend.

Hmm I guess we could but who'd post on it except for us?

OH is awful imo.... (I've never posted on OH but for a while I had people badmouthing me on there for some reason :/ so I have no intention of ever going on there for any reason since the users on the Kpop forum at least seem kinda nasty)

I don't mind if he completely disappears for months if it will help him to prepare for the Olympic season. Probably he won't because of some shows, but still...He knows what's best for him and I am sure he will say no if he felt that it would affect his preparation in any negative way.

So it seems IMG sent invitation to Yuzu for The Ice. I sincerely hope he will reject them

I think it’s too early to worry about this. Because firstly, this is an article released in Nikkan Sports, which is affiliated with Asahi shinbun and TV Asahi, the broadcasting rights holder of GPS, WTT, Fantasy on ice in Japan. Nikkan has nothing to do with The Ice which is normally broadcasted by Nihon TV, Fuji TV, Chukyo TV (Local TV company in Nagoya.) Nikkan is not an insider regarding The Ice tour. Secondary, as far as I remember, the organizer of The Ice has never leaked the cast information mentioning specific name of a skater before it was officially confirmed. Thirdly, the reporter who wrote this article is not considered as a reliable source. This writer is a person who wrote in a Nikkan-related magazine that he/she thought that all the writers have to make effort to convey what they witnessed truthfully to embrace a skater who was like a national treasure, then wrote in Nikkan Sports a week later that Yuzu showed hostility towards Nathan when Yuzu just mentioned Nathan as a skater who had quad flip other than Shoma. I would never believe an article wrote by this person unless its content is confirmed by other sources.

My iPad doesn't run it. What did she say about Yuzuru? Anyone give me some summary?
Thank you so much.

They talked about how Yuzuru can have off days but when he is on, no one can beat him, that he has a style all of his own and a strong personality. That his fans revere him. Paul Dore loved Yuzuru's face after he finished his FS. And PJ mentioned that he had this expression in his face when he skated at 4CC that said 'wait, this is my town', a look of ownership. [Edit: And he had the same look before the FS at Worlds] And PJ mentioned that when Yuzuru came out of his FS he draped himself over her and was feeling very excited, even though no one knew then what the results would eventually be. And that everyone wants to mother him!

They also talked about the Japanese crowds who really went crazy for Yuzuru after his SP, and that the entire audience threw flowers at him and every single one of the flower kids had to go on the ice to pick everything up. And Paul Bore was amused that the first thing Yuzuru said after his FS at Worlds was that he needed to train harder and admired how humble and hardworking he is, even if he was kind of laughing in disbelief at this.

Yes the people on there aren't the nicest at all so I tend to not talk on it. I just love the badges, signatures and gifs as avatars

I don't think they would write something like X show has invited A person without some insider's information. Of course invitation is invitation and there is no guarantee that the person invited will agree. But this is not so different from pressuring Yuzuru from the outside media for Yuzuru to attend the show.
If this leaking is true, then they're too insensible since it's the summer before Olympic year. He needs time to prepare for the difficult and very long, stressful season. I do hope Yuzuru will put them aside and know where his top priorities are. He can do tons of shows after Olympic. Hopefully he knows he should refuse them this time.
