My dears, anyone up for translating Estonian, Finnish, Latvian, Norweigian, Polish, Swedish and Swiss commentary for WC LP?

This thread basically functions as the primary English-language Yuzuru Hanyu fansite, and given that he is the most popular skater in the world, whose popularity seems still growing, no wonder that the post count is large. Tumblr and Twitter can't quite replace a discussion forum so this is the place where fans from all over the world gather. As basically a fansite, it allows a wider range of topic and just sillly gushing and conversation than very focused threads about skating itself.

so about the draw of GP series, it's meant Yuzu will always skate last in the SP, and if he manage finnish among the top 3 after the short he can avoid skate #2 ? bless indeed

I plan to be at ACI again this year if he goes, it's in the same place as last year so it'll be nice and familiar for him. Thinking back on it now, I had the privilege of seeing him unveil both programs for the first time, and land the first ratified quad loop. Then I got to watch him in Helsinki too and see the journey this season from start to finish (well there's WTT, but that's more of an afterthought). His improvement across the season been remarkable. It started with this run-through of H&L in Montreal, he had skipped some of the choreography and spins, but landed all the jumps only to single his good friend 3Lz. Thinking back on it now, it was like a tiny preview of what was to come.

Oh, that one time 4S3T was landed right on the musical cue... and then never again. That and the Besti after the combo of doom are the only things I miss in the Worlds performance. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love that he still found a musical timing for his Worlds 4S3T (you'll notice it is jumped at a different point in the music but it still matches it) but that early 4S3T was jumped right at the perfect time and I kind of will always look at this earlier RT and cry a little at what could have been.

The most famous dance to this music by Saint-Saens is a ballet solo called "The Dying Swan" created for Anna Pavlova in 1905. It is so famous it is still being danced today over a hundred years later and has been reinvented many times most notably by the great Maya Plisetskaya. I don't know if David Wilson's choreography was inspired by this ballet solo (Yuzu is after all a very much alive swan in his EX ) but the program and Yuzu's execution of it has the same soft, dreamy delicacy of the ballet version.

Yep, that's why the song is called Notte Stellata and not The Swan

I was watching that Maya Plisetskaya video you linked and I have an off topic question: Was she known for having really long arms? I confess the movements of her arms and the background really made it seem like she had really loooong and boneless arms. It got kind of weird for me. Sorry!
