Just be sure to make it a banner you can hold up yourself and don't rely on the ISU to allow you to hang it up at the arena :sarcasm:It would be nice to make a banner of something related to your country + Yuzuru in it in competition. Something like "Yuzuru Fangroup from Mexico" or Hungary, Egypt, Brazil, Singapore, Australia etc.
Do it for Yuzuru (not for the commentators, couldn't care less about them to be honest), I think he would be delighted to know that there are fans from all over the world (especially from a non-skating country/tropical country) supporting him and cheering for him (especially when your country barely have skating rinks lol). He is aware that he has many fans from all over the place but maybe he is not so aware that many of them actually come to see him in competition too, who knows

He should also see signs from fans from traditional figure skating countries... He should know that not every Canadian is a fan of Patrick, not every American is for Nathan etc... I dislike the assumption that since I am Canadian I should be supporting Canadian skaters over anyone else. I am most definitely in the Yuzu camp.

I am pretty sure you are not the only Canadian who is a big fan of Yuzuru (over their own Chan). I have seen quite many actually :agree2:

I don't really see the point in liking an athlete just because they're from your own country anyway. Sure it's nice to sing the anthem and wave your flag and whatever, but especially with skating isn't it better to appreciate someone because of their skills?

Sooo I am officially as deep in this Yuzu thing as it gets. I have downloaded photoshop again- I used to make gifs back in the day but I haven't been inspired enough (read: obsessed) to make any gifs for the past 5 years or so. Here I come.

He says he draws energy from his fans? Maybe he will finally get to hang a Skate Canada gold medal next to his three silvers

Wow, Canada loves Yuzu!!! How lovely!
Now if only that would somehow translate into success on Canadian ice... or maybe not... we don't want the world to end.
Actually, when they were interviewing Yuzu in the Kiss & Cry before the medal ceremony and the interviewer said "all your Japanese fans" I wanted to shout, "Hey, I came from America!". I was sitting near the Kiss and Cry too, I bet they would've heard me.

Make a sign that says "Go ___ " (some skater who isn't quite as popular, then they will definitely hang it up). And then when the competition lights turn on it will melt off to reveal a Yuzu poster underneath
Haha, well, then that "Canada loves Yuzu" banner should be a start
No news yet until ISU congress is over. CoR (1st GP) and NHK (4th GP) should be the most convenient for him. If not other alternatives would be SC (2nd event)+ NHK or SC+TDF (5th event). He won't go to CoC and very likely will not go to SA, I would be very surprised if he does.

Japanese fans were surprised and delighted to see my very blatant support of Yuzu. Americans always want to tell me about Nate (who I like and he was a friendly kid when I met him, but I don't uber him yet). I do take pride that he's one of our own and trailblazing in his own way, and I cheered and waved our flag for him and threw him a plushy, but it takes a little something else to bring me to uber land. Honestly, save for Sasha Cohen I haven't ubered any American skater. And if she wasn't American it wouldn't have made any difference.
I am most patriotic when it's a sport I know nothing about or care nothing about

But I think Yuzu acknowledged his fans from all over the world himself more than once...? Maybe my memory is off, but I thought he also said something like that in Helsinki (after the SP?). And then there are fan letters and all that stuff. The banner from the International facebook group was up during the LP right over the exit... so another thing he might have seen
