There is a new interview he mentioned new programs, that he will change the free skate as he knows the public and judges don't really love it much. And that he is undecided and might keep the SP :palmf:
Anyone confirm? Thanks in advance.

It's good that he will change the free. I am not sure about the SP though. :drama:

I thought he had said he would let Jeff pick out a new SP for him?
Then again, he said something along those lines when he decided to keep Chopin...

Well, if he skates it clean at WTT, the only way to go for him will be to up the difficulty, right? It's either LGC with 4Lz or the old layout in a new more challenging SP.

Edit: Or a new SP WITH 4Lz. :slink:

*knocks on wood he goes clean at WTT because LGC deserves all the good things*

Iirc after move to Canada and train with Brian, he always keep his SP two times (PW and Chopin) right? and he always upped the difficulty for his SP .. So.. Yeah.. New SP with 4Lz isn't bad..:slink:

I want a new SP because I can't stand that pants. :palmf:

You guys see my tag line... I want something normal for his costume....

Just give in to Crazy Costumes... PPoS will defeat you every time. Stare at the duochrome longer and be brainwashed :hap57:

He will never water down his layouts or his outfits. The world might end if he wears all black; I don't care how sparkly it is. Normal costumes would jinx him for sure and we can't have that!

PW had the same layout for both seasons. But I thought they had kept it because nothing better came up?
And Chopin was because he couldn't have a clean one on its first season, wasn't it?

Yes, PW had the same layout but I think there was a little change to his choreo ? It looks a bit different from his first try in 2012 and Olympic season in 2013 ..? And for Chopin if I'm not wrong he change his lutz with second quad.. Toeloop

Edit: perhaps he keeps PW because it works for him and he continues to breaks the world record with it.. PW and Yuzu get along really well..

Edit: I mistook edit button with reply button :palmf:

First Chopin iteration was during the dreaded 2014/2015 season. Originally it had the 4T in the second half, yes? And he began with the SE-3A sandwich. Then he changed it so the 4T was the first jump, to make it easier for his recuperation, and during the 2014/2015 season it never went back to the original layout, I think? Then for ACI and SC in the 2015/2016 season he went back to the original layout (which he again never got right and ended up Zayaking himself to 6th place at SC) and thus the third iteration of Chopin was born, which got a quad upgrade and he then skated it cleanly three times. Who'd have thought?

Edit: Conclusion, LGC will only be skated clean when he ups the difficulty. So, 4Lz LGC? Yes?

I can't imagine how nervous it will be to watch him skating with 4Lz in the SP.. :slink:

PW layout is the same for 2 seasons, and not really any particular choreo change too. Unless you meant Chopin. He scrambled the jump layout a number of times the whole 2 seasons.

Calling it now, eh? :p

Anyway, PW was really successful execution-wise, he skated it clean back-to-back 5 times in the olympic season (TEB, GPF, Nats, team event oly, olympics) and 3 times the previous season (SA, NHK, Nats). So I understand why his team wanted to keep it. LGC though...

Ah yes, thank you for clarification ~

I think it is not decided yet, maybe if Jeff finds something interesting he will change, or if he skates clean at wtt.

The only issue with keeping LGC I can find is that he's kept his past two SPs for two seasons. If he does the same for LGC, it constitutes a pattern. LGC is a real crowd pleaser, though, but it'd still be the third SP in a row he'd keep for two seasons.

I am not sure what would be the point of keeping LGC if he changes the jump layout and he will change the non-3A passes, I am willing to bet on it. There's no way he doesn't, way too much at stake. But maybe yes, it sounds undecided right now.

Anyway, thank you all for translations!

So I just math it a bit, 4Lo3T in the first half has a BV of 16.3 points while 4S3T in the second half will receive 16.28 points. The BV difference is minuscule, but which one do you think will be a better choice for him - quality and consistency wise?

maybe he prefers 4lo3T in first half rather than 4S3T in second.. in this case its worthy

Sorry, guys. I just remembered the choreographer of Rika Hongo's Carmina Burana SP this season is Shae-Lynn. Then, this is just my impression, but it is less possible Yuzu choose Carmina for his programs, as long as he asks his choreo to Jeff and Shae-Lynn again? :scratch2:

He should have the 4Lo-3T in the FS too, much like he had the 4S-3T so I think the SP will be a good double practice for the new quad combo. Plus it's also the non-points benefit, that of effect on judges etc.
Eeeem. I don't know, I know he said it here but I'm truly wondering if it will happen. Maybe Jeff will come up with something fab that'll sway him

Oh forgotten 4T, how much I miss it in the SP :rolleye:
Don't wanna change topics, but it was his most consistent quad all season
4T - 6/7 = 86%
4Lo - 10/12 = 83%
4S - 10/18 = 56% :dev2:

Yes, I am actually conflicted because, who knows, maybe he would have more consistency doing 4Lo3T than 4S3T in the second half judging by his 4S3T consistency lately (and also his recent high GOE received from 4Lo) I guess we will know more by WTT.

Haha, I think it will really depend on what he will do in the FS. If he thinks he need more time to adjust to his new FS layout, I will not be surprised if he decided to reuse LGC (even with the old layout). And 4Lo3T in the second half of FS... Let's just say I can already feel my own hips in pain just typing this. :slink:

Actually Yuzu already said Jeff is going to pick the music for SP for him, so they definitely have something prepared beside LGC at the very least. (Brian said in the interview that music for Yuzu has been chosen too). Whether they will eventually use it next season or not would be up to how Yuzuru will adjust, I guess.

I highly doubt he will do Carmina Burana. The speculation started because of a really old interview with Brian of how he prepared Carmina Burana for Yuzuru. But that was before Seimei and Chopin and LGC and HnL happened and were successful, I think. Yuzuru has been successful doing non-warhorse stuff, I really don't see he and his team going back to warhorse again. Even in last olympic season, PW is the successful program, despite being not a warhorse (and actually became his signture program) compared tot RnJ2.

I can't stan the pants either, It's too tacky, if Yuzu gonna keep LGC for next season, please change it to black pants and balck shirt,(like PW 0.1 but more full black) add blings if it needed,

and if it true Yuzu will take typical warhores for LP, why not bring back Seimei instead?
