Will there be any sort of press conference today? Or maybe interviews that have been released? I want to see his face and see how he's doing.

The only thing I'm sorry about is that he didn't enjoy himself at all. I wish this could have been fun, but it morphed into Worlds Part 2. In my opinion, most of the men skated worse here. They were done. As far as I'm concerned, no apology is needed.

Oh BB! I couldn't watch because work:dev2: but I watched the video later and uf his face, it hurts me so much seeing him so disappointed. And the surgery news, it's from twp years ago...Maybe people need to be more careful spreading this kind of rumors.
Please Yuzu, enjoy your skating!

Well, it's best it happened here and not at Worlds. It's been a long season and he's had to keep up a good shape for 4CC and Worlds. At least his PCS did not suffer that much (yeah he was behind Shoma, but by a point or so with Shoma going clean and Yuzuru having two mistakes). But we know that a bad SP is usully a fuel for him to do well in the FS. Hope that's the case this time :)
I'm also on the team of letting that SP go and try something new next season. He sold it like nobody's business, but perhaps it's better to change it? I trust Jeff to come up with something very good for the Olympics  (then again, it seems like that pattern of repeating SP programs gives him results so who knows!)

Not saying he should, but every Yuzu fan knows that anything other than 1st won't really do for him, he would want to win, so I'm just guessing that he'll do a 5 quad program this time, I mean from what people are saying 60% chance of landing quad lutz is actually quite good, just saying.

He can still win the FS with 4 quads. The scores won't even be added anyway. Every segment is a separate competition.

PW was kept because it raked in the points and reputation for him. Chopin was kept because he was so messed up health-condition-wise that it was worth trying to see if he could milk its full potential, and milk it he did. LGC is not as worth keeping, because it hasn't been done very well regardless of his physical condition and mental condition. It has also fulfilled its function of expanding his versatility in performing and he has shown that he is capable controlling the audiences and recovering faster than before after mistakes. In my opinion, LGC has already provided him with many lessons, but he still can't skate it to his ideal, so maybe he should just change. No point getting hung up on it and risk hurting his reputation. Y'all do realise that even his 3A is starting to take a hit in GOEs?

Yuzu said that PW and Notte stelatta kind of program showcase his strengt more, so I hope Yuzu will be back to those kind of program, Notte Stellata for SP and PW for FS

Why is the loop considered an invalid element? Do skaters not get any points for single jumps at all??

I think it is because the solo jump requirement is a triple or quad jump, so if it's singled then it is invalid. It is the same for the ladies in the SP, if the solo jump is not a triple but only a double then it's an invalid element.

Okay, I just watched the skate. It is not that bad, yes the jumps went wrong but the overall skating was... pretty great actually? At least I think so. Sad he's disappointed and I think his team and him might have to address the pressure he puts on himself to be perfect. Brian and Yuzuru have discussed it before in the KnC (Japanese nationals) so I do think they are aware.

It is only WTT Yuzuru, go out there tomorrow and make yourself proud and try to have fun :agree:

I can't imagine him keeping Prince as his SP next season. My understanding is that this was just something different he wanted to try in the year prior to the Olympics, to stretch a bit.

well if I didn't feel like an idiot already... :bang: I'm really sorry for bringing that up

Let's blame it on the heat of the competition :)

Anyway! I hope Yuzu will recover from this (that it was just because he got too intense this time around and not for more serious reasons) and that he can have some fun for the rest of the competition. He doesn't need to proove anything to anyone anymore. He already delivered a perfect and beautiful H&L- he should just enjoy it this time.

I think it is because the solo jump requirement is a triple or quad jump, so if it's singled then it is invalid. It is the same for the ladies in the SP, if the solo jump is not a triple but only a double then it's an invalid element.

That is because a single jump in the short program is not allowed, for a combination jump it has to be at least a 3-2 or a 2-3, and then there needs to be an axel type jump, it has to be either double axel or triple axel.

I should go to bed. But thanks everyone! I'm sure I'll wake up to pages more of wonderful comments and support from you :ghug:
