Well, the SP result was basically the best that Lena could have hoped for--2nd place and a new personal best. Congrats Lena!!! :clap:

Her skate wasn't perfect, but it was definitely a step in the right direction. Aside from the lutz (which still looked pretty good--she didn't have to put the free leg down), her landings looked smoother today. I definitely thought the days when Lena could improvise a 3Lo+3T were over, but she proved me wrong!!! There's our iron-willed fighter!!! :yes2: She had been struggling with underrotations on her 3T earlier in the season, but this one was perfectly clean, and on an improvised combo no less! :agree:

But the most entertaining stuff to me was the fluff!

But what are they saying? :confused: All I could understand from Lena was "Mom, Dad, Andruysha [Bobrova's husband], hi!"

According to Japanese Twitter, apparently Lena was dancing the whole time that Tarasova/Morozov was waiting for their scores, and Zhenya was watching her, so Lena taught her the dance, and they were dancing together, BUT THIS DIDN'T SHOW UP IN ANY OF THE VIDEOS!!! :sad4: If anyone finds a video of this, PLEASE POST THE LINK!!! :bow:

I'm glad she and Evgenia look like they are on friendly terms, and all of team Russia looks very close, so hurray for the team spirit!
I loved her short yesterday- I think it was one of the best times she's performed it, and so proud of her for doing the 3-3 later! I think it's funny how everyone had her last or second to last in predictions. Goes to show you can never count her out! Anyway, hoping she slays in the long program :clapper:

Congratulations Lena on her performances and winning silver with Team Russia! She hasn't competed for long months and comes back lack this! It is a superb achievement. She's just a ray of sunshine on the ice, too, I loved watching her. :luv17:
 
Fans, for some reason, sometimes make more conflicts in their heads between their favourites and non-favourites than there really are in the real life (I mean also many other skaters). Some who have been working with them say Russian ladies have a very good team spirit though their have a hard competition between them. But nice to see the smiling Elena again. I really had not earlier realized not know she had grown so tall. I am sure she will have better year next year and this gives her confidence.
