In my experience it is absolutely necessary to write them. The ones i haven't practised much i can read them but i can't write them (that's the sole reason why i was placed in level three and not level four at japanese school haha)
And i REALLY recommend the Anki app. I am using the All in One kanji deck, which might not be the best one to learn since it's in the order they teach the kanji at school but i'm beggining with 4th grade kanji already (plus some others i've learned from doing a ton of reading) so it might be ok for you guys.
And if anyone has a Nintendo DS and can acquire the game, i also use this to practice the stroke order and do drills when i have free time :)
(Or you could install an emulator on your phone like i did... :slink:)

Darn it, I have a Nintendo DS but now I don't know where it is. But this is a great idea. I usually don't have time to do a decent amount of writing practice, so anything that I can do on the go would be of great help. Maybe I'll try the emulator...

How do you maintain exposure to the language though? I know that helps a lot with retention, and it's kind of difficult when after doing studying, everything around you is in English so you have to shift right back.

(And sorry for the OT guys! Just really wanted to get some tips from fellow Nihongo learners.)

I guess, he kinda went all out with his inner rockstar and level of extraness today ^ ^

Anyone sees this during PPAP?? I think he will give his jacket to someone bc he puts his signature with WTT 2017 underneath. I really would die to get that jacket tbh

I heard that Japanese people have the culture of giving friends clothes/uniforms that they used to wear. Because they think clothes bear the soul of the wearer and if one person gives his clothes to his friend, his soul will be with his friend. Like in school, senpais often give their uniforms to kohais. So whichever fan is lucky to have that uniform of Yuzu, he/she will have Yuzu's soul with him/her!! Isn't that amazing!

So jealous :tantrum:

Wow never knew about this!!!

Guys for those who want to introduce Yuzu to a tailor, Yuzu is actually pretty fancy with his clothes choices. His tie in which he wore on tv today is actually from Burberry.

He probably just a type of guy who is too lazy to alter his suits ^ ^

I think it's been speculated that all his clothes which are fancy/expensive are gifts from fans, judging from his earlier outfits. Maybe someone should 3D scan him from afar and throw him a new fitted suit? :laugh2:

During ice shows there are special boxes for gifts to skaters, I've seen mentions on Japanese twitter that fans sometimes gift him nice clothing? Others give gifts to his mother when they see her around during competitions. NOT a good idea to throw it on the ice though, may get lost in the absolute pooh chaos.

(1) who is spending £150 on a tie (2) to then assumably throw it onto ice for a figure skater who might not even get it:eeking:

He has been seen wearing fan gifts multiple times (Shirts...scarfs...etc). One option would be to mail it to JSF I guess..it would just take a while to get to him.

And that nice winter jacket he wore to World's? That was pretty expensive. He's not slumming it with regards to his nicer items... the day to day t shirts, though, lol....

Gap.

I once spend $850* on a bag for an idol who never used it [emoji23]
*it wasn't strictly my money but money raised through selling photos and stuff to other fans but whatever

I imagine expensive gifts have a safer method of being passed along. I'm sure skaters appreciate it. Yuzu maybe makes okay money but skating is expensive, especially skating at the top level. I dunno if he would consider fancy clothes a priority...

I don't think he has any time to check all the gifts that he receives after competitions/shows, or through JSF. I know he used to answer to fan letters but that was many years ago, I can hardly imagine that he would have time to do it nowadays.

His family probably helps him go through all his fan mail, especially ones through JSF.

I hope he got my present but I threw it onto the ice hah :hap10:

It had a bow on it!

I wish we could see a pic of him casually wearing it <3

Guys i want to do Yuzu themed nails again but i don't know which ones to do... Ideas? I already did Swan, Chopin, Seimei, H&L, LGC 1&2, RJ1 and Hana ni nare
