I agree with half of this. Yuzuru's fate is in his own hands, that I do agree with but in such a way that he forces the judges to give him decent scores if he's clean. I say decent because no matter what he does, I think he can say bye bye to top GOEs/PCS. At the same time, they're going to shower Shoma Uno especially, even if he gives a far inferior performance. So who walks out of that as a winner next season is a big question as far as I am concerned, it'll depend on the content he has. I think you're severely underestimating just how much Shoma got elevated this season.
At least, if the situation from it holds. It might not. Olympics politics are interesting. I'm actually curious if USFSA turns their eye on Shoma. There are genuine things there that require no fudging at all, just proper scoring, that can bring him down and help Nathan. Nathan is a question mark because Marina can package him really well but we're going to have to wait and see what he does on the tech side. On the other hand, if USFSA and JSF agree to back each other across disciplines, then Shoma can rest easily, in terms of judging.
