Yuzuru Hanyu: 2016-17 Season

Yeah, Shae has developed a relationship with Yuzuru that helps them a lot and has produced amazing programs, and for all that we've read, Yuzuru is a very particular person when it comes to his input in a program and how his jumps are set into choreography. We've gotten used to this duo.

Anyways, so far it's mostly unconfirmed rumors.

Well, in that tv interview he said he is still undecided about what to do next season and from this translation : http://nanoka12.tumblr.com/post/160097589586/once-again-towards-the-realm-of-the-unknown, everything is still a question mark.

Anyway this translation gave a slight different impression of his 4Lz plan
Nagano: Ah, I see. Do you have thoughts of certainly wanting to include the 4Lz for the Pyeongchang Olympics next year?

Yuzuru: Not at all.

I take it from the trans that he is not at all certain of wanting to include the 4Lz, not that he is certain of not at all wanting to include the 4Lz.

I'm glad "that" forum closed. As someone there was rather being unreasonable over a video supposed to be for educational purposes (perhaps that video isn't perfect but nonetheless educational still). :rolleye:

And I'd extend kudos here to the creators of that video. Once again, thank you.

Now, I hope Yuzuru doesn't split with Shae, I thought they do well as a team and she's done wonderful programs for him since POTO. I hope to see another program next season by Shae for Yuzuru. :hap10:

Now, I would be devastated, perplexed, etc., if he broke up with Jeff... everything is a masterpiece... But, apart from Seimei, I am neutral about Shae's work. Interesting news... probably gossip but it makes you wonder how anyone thought of it as credible.

Well, now we have even more stuff to chew on, lol. :drama: welcome to the Olympic season!

I was promised calm and relaxation and costume talk! Today I have a 24-hour readathon to do that just started and I have read like 1-page so far because I'm still here. Gah. Was hoping to see more stuff from the JOC training camp but apparently there's not many new reports coming from that front so... closing this forum for the weekend!

It seems like he wasn't even there today...?

Totally off-topic but this conversation reminds me of this strange dream I had last night. Yuzuru was skating the LGC encore with his R&J2 costume. To his credit the boobskirt fluttered very impressively when he was doing the knee slide. But it was so weird because his hair was done in LGC style. He still looked crazy good though (perhaps I'm just biased).

I'm not going to lie that I'm curious what DW will produce for the current Yuzuru but I prefer him to stick to Shae. I don't know how to say it but the elements in Shae's programs seem to match the rhythm of the music better and imo it really highlights Yuzuru's musicality.

But it's a 3-day camp. Did he just decide to sleep in today? Not go? The media actually focused on someone else for once? IDEK

If he is there the media will be all over him, the boy generate clicks and views anyway. If you did not see a single picture of him I am inclined to think he is not even there today. :p

Oh... this should have been aired already right? So what was it about?

Frankly speaking, I think he is a fantastic choreographer. I like many of his programs, just not the one he choreographed for Yuzu.

Here is where my problem starts - I don't even think that  He has done some really nice SPs IMO (Kozukas Exodus, Yunas Danse Macabre, Dais In the garden of souls), but I can't recall a single LP of his that I liked. A lot are okay-ish, programs you know will get the points, but I think they are often very generic. And than that additionally clashes with Yuzu, who is everything but.
I also agree with you about the difference between Gala and competitive program... Swan is nice, but it works precisely because there are barely jumps in it. And that allows for a different approach of working, where Yuzu and DW might have clicked, while I'm not sure the same applies to a competitive program. Tbh, I don't even like the idea of a program like Swan for the LP no matter who choreographs it. I just don't see it work when you have to throw around 4 quads (at least) at the same time.

Anyway, Yuzu & team have a lot of difficult choices ahead, and I hope he has the time to think them all over well. No regrets please at the end of next season!

PS:
To the people who asked for more analysis videos - video maker team is at least partly up for it, we just need to find the analysis' for it :)

And PPS:
shiro, I love that your ava is back

And your ava is great! I adore runrun's work!!!
Referring to DW (if this is true) I don't expect that they choose a music like the swan but something with more impact like RJ2 was or ND. It's the only reason I see for Yuzu to leave Shae and go back to DW... a program with more public and judges impact.
