He said after Worlds that he will let Jeff choose music for his SP so... :)

Yes, I remember. I was so happy when he said that. I always wondered why he didnt have Jeff do his long program too, (or instead of the sp...) Maybe concern it would be too detailed?

Here is where my problem starts - I don't even think that  He has done some really nice SPs IMO (Kozukas Exodus, Yunas Danse Macabre, Dais In the garden of souls), but I can't recall a single LP of his that I liked. A lot are okay-ish, programs you know will get the points, but I think they are often very generic.

LMAO GASP How does our favorite programs from him is exactly the same, I am crying :laugh2:
I actually like the choreo he has done for Luba and Dylan, but then again I do think he is not for everybody. He is like Lori, imo, has great stuff but has many misses too (Can't you believe he did Nino rota's RJ2 for both Sasha Cohen and Yuzuru and they both fell at almost the same music at the olympics, I forever cried). Also agreed to every thing you said there. I really doubt if the judges appreciate program like HnL less, that they would appreciate anything that has similar nuance (like the swan or whatever). I do think Seimei just left a strong impression so people who are his non-fans would always look to anything put out by him and compare it to THAT.

I'd rather he do something that he could call his own than going the generic way. Though I am not fond of PW (and probably some portion of skating fans too), I do think it is his signature program that define and elevate his character/personality as a skater. I am curious how he is going to make 4-quad program work in his favor. i do think this year he got so many in his plates : injuries, including new jump in his program (4Lo!), adding the amount of jump in his program (4 QUADS!), now that he is more accustomed to it, I can't wait to see how he will grow from there.

I also agree with you about the difference between Gala and competitive program... Swan is nice, but it works precisely because there are barely jumps in it. And that allows for a different approach of working, where Yuzu and DW might have clicked, while I'm not sure the same applies to a competitive program. Tbh, I don't even like the idea of a program like Swan for the LP no matter who choreographs it. I just don't see it work when you have to throw around 4 quads (at least) at the same time.

Anyway, Yuzu & team have a lot of difficult choices ahead, and I hope he has the time to think them all over well. No regrets please at the end of next season!

PS:
To the people who asked for more analysis videos - video maker team is at least partly up for it, we just need to find the analysis' for it :)

And PPS:
shiro, I love that your ava is back

:agree2:

Plus really it wasn't the choreography that was the "problem" when it comes to H&L; it was the music. Change the music to something driving and we'd have no problem. It's sucky that this is how it is but what can we do.

Of course, in the post-Olympics season I really don't mind if he experiments with working with DW again

Because we have great taste?
Yep, he's the male Lori for me (and not Lori the female DW, because I'm emancipated like that :roll5: ), and I can kind of understand it since he has so many skaters coming to him, you just have to be out of creativity at some point. And I also think that if he changes to DW, it's a "political" move, since H&L wasn't appreciated and all that bla.

Well, I'm personally still thinking we will still get layout upgrades and either 4Lz and/or 5 quads (or at least some new combo), but the main thing is that he is healthy. So he should have more time getting accustomed to that and I'm also sure he's going to grow even more and be even better next season. Even with a generic blah program.

Hi everyone

I just wanted to let you know that i created a youtube account "Sportymags" and posted 2 videos that I took. First one is Yuzu leaving the Small Medal Ceremony at Worlds in Helsinki. Second video is Yuzu's first ever public practice run-through of Lets Go Crazy at 2016 Autumn Classic in Montreal. Here is link to The run-through. Will post more videos when I can.

I also created a @Realsportymags twitter account where I post the video links and photos and blog entries as I do not always post here. I can't keep up with how fast this thread moves! Hopefully this will brighten up your day! Enjoy Yuzu!

Thank you so much!

Btw I love your blog especially the random entries talking about Yuzu's water bottle covers, multi sports potentials etc. I find them informative and helps me get to know his quirks better :)

But I LOVE that music from Joe Higaishi! I think PW and Seimei stuck so strongly in ppl mind they wanted something similar. I think his LP this season really highlighted how light and smoothly fluid he moves on the ice. He really does move very differently on the ice than the rest of the field. Same goes to how Patrick moves totally differently as well. They stand out a lot.

All this talk about switching to DW. Is that just fan speculation or did the Orser camp say DW will be choreographing. Shae choreographed Semei too. I think she really gets the intricasy and delicasy of his movements.

Happen to be the two guys with the best Skating Skills too. Might not be unrelated, IMO.

And yes, Chopin & Seimei are potentially planned for videos :)
(Thank you Fay for be willing to check the translations again!)

Nope it was just the usual "what if" talk like we did at the start of last season. We have a convo about Yuzu going back to DW last season too. Nothing has been confirmed as of now, so no.

It' s the olympic season I am expecting generic blah program for everybody. :p
I know I myself prefer for him to do "signature" programs. But I am not him and Yuzu wants to win and if he feels he needs to go the blah way for a chance of oly gold he can skate to POTO 2.0 or RnJ 3.0 I would not care.

P.S : maybe yes we have great taste *cough cough*

I agree but unfortunately, even he noticed the reception wasn't quite what it should have been. I think the problem is that a lot of people derive emotion during a skating program from the music itself, not from the skater and this caused a glitch.

Honestly, I don't care if he picks Carmen if that is what it takes to help him to Olympic gold! I'm a practical person

Now, I would be devastated, perplexed, etc., if he broke up with Jeff... everything is a masterpiece... But, apart from Seimei, I am neutral about Shae's work. Interesting news... probably gossip but it makes you wonder how anyone thought of it as credible.

Yes I agree. I've loved all of Jeff's stuff but Shae is...well her choreography isn't really my style

Well, this whole choreographer talk is so far an unsubstantiated rumor at best, but I wouldn't even be surprised if it's true. I know a lot of people aren't fans of DW because they think he excels at generic warhorse programs but, well :slink: from what I've gathered on this forum over the last few years, that is actually the way a lot of skaters want to go during Oly season. Playing it safe seems to be the name of the game. And he's worked with DW before, so it's not exactly a groundbreaking shocking scandal that he might work with him again (although, tabloid :rolleye: not like we could expect any other way of reporting a rumor). I don't actually have an opinion on how good or bad DW's choreography is, so I have no (war)horse in this race

I was obsessed with Yuna's Danse Macabre once upon a time!
Even though I'm drawing a blank when I think of programs for next year, i'd like something that is dynamic but also with flow to suit yuzuru's style.
Part of me still wants to see Saint-Saens Organ symphony...why Nathan why :p

The universe really don't want us to get bored :laugh2:

I hope that it's only some rumors. I really like/ love all Shae's work for Yuzu. But if he will be working with David again then I will be praying for something NOT like NDP :drama: Sorry David, I love the Swan and I forgave you, but I don't trust you like I trust Jeff and Shae when it comes to competetive programs :scard8:

If it's not Shae or DW, do we think he could be giving Misha Ge a shot? I heard Misha was going to be working at TCC. Of Shae's work I would like choreographically I prefer Seimei, POTO, H&L in that order. I wouldn't be averse to him switching it up, but DW so far I am meh on. And didn't he do Javi's Elvis program?

Just please never split with Jeff, I couldn't handle that one :drama:.
