I'm going to resubmit my request for a cowboy themed exhibition

I'll settle for Edward Scissorhands but I think that should be a competitive program. He kind of gives off a unique vibe similar to Johny Depp, which is a good thing, so maybe that's it. What do I know :p

I wasn't a fan until 2014, but I remember seeing a video clip show casing R&J2 at Ice Rink Sendai in 2013. Does anyone know if that was just a special circumstance for the Olympics, or if the year prior Yuzu revealed his programs during the TCC media day?

I checked my videos, in 2013, the media day of TCC was August 21 but I also have the news clips of media day of Sendai. So it seems there were two media days but I don't remember why :drama:

Just to add something to the press day program revelation discussion, if my memory is correct, they were early to mid August. One year we had no pre-warning, the next I think a cameraman or an interviewer tweeted that it's media day coming up at TCC and people correctly guessed it would be THE day so we were able to build up our anticipation towards it. :)

However this being Olympic Season things may play out differently.

At least before that reveal GP assignment is announced. [emoji23]
Last year TCC media day was mid September. The reason should be that he started training later then usual because of the injury.

Hmm very interesting! Can you tell which videos came out first? I've never seen the 2013 TCC media day clip, but I do remember he did both Parisienne Walkways and Romeo and Juliet 2 in Sendai from the videos I saw.

He looks surprisingly good in this.
Thanks for posting.
Here's a video that's compiled Yuzu's kiss and cry moments since 2010. Sometimes funny, sad, heartbreaking, victorious.
Which is your favorite or most memorable Kiss and Cry Moment?

Mine was GPF 2015 after the freeskate. :cheer:

EDIT: Totally forgot to post the link! [emoji23]
The GPF15 moment was precious. But the one at Worlds17 was really special for many reasons. Tracy's reaction to the score, Yuzu with happy face finally, amused Brian, all of it was priceless.

Probably he will repeat his competitive programs of the past seasons as EX, like he did before Sochi.

ETA the music in Edward Scissorhands OST is beautiful. I don't recall anybody skating to it, but it could be perfect.

My videos were edited into one and I know only the date of August 21, but I found the answer in the past thread. TCC media day was first, and Yuzuru came back to Sendai after that and had another media day on August 30. (and I didn't remember that at all lol)

These are clips of TCC media day

Cowboy Yuzu...this is the closest I can find Sam. http://fulcherdepp.tumblr.com/search/Jason+brown Bonus Jason as a fantasy figure.
It is possible they both need to 'stay in their lanes' -or not, maybe cowboy Yuzu will be what the world never knew it wanted.

Yuzu as Edward Scissorhands would be really interesting. -Who would you like to choreograph this?

Thank you, everyone who answered my question! :o: So in the end there is no definite pattern. I never cared much about the off season, so I didn't know the details. But that keeps the excitement, hehe.

I've been thinking for a long time that someone should skate to Edward Scissorhands (It's one of my favourite movies, and the soundtrack is so fairy-like and beautiful). With Yuzuru's white skin and black hair, yeah, he would make a great Edward! I can really imagine him do that. I wonder, though, if he'll do another more 'japanese' themed long program, like 'Seimei' or 'Hope & Legacy'. I liked this direction very much, but have a feeling were going to see something different for the Olympics. *sigh*

My best hope is that he tries one of his new programs in the summer shows.

Wooo thread is back! Nice to see you all :yay: Ahh the pain of the off-season waiting for new programs haha please Yuzu hurry up and agree to a summer show. Just one will do!

One of the first ever video edits I attempted was of Yuzu at GPF remixed with Edward Scissorhands.

I'm very curious as to what he'll choose but at the same time confident that he can pull off anything and yet I find myself :hpull: in anticipation

So.,.errr... this is the new thread? (Not that I'm complaining but... why'd they only keep the 2016-2017 season? I had hoped I could still find previous posts about the previous seasons. Reading the interesting ones were such a gem)

In any case, better than nothing I guess, and hello to you guys again!

Thread is split to seasons. You can find other threads as well

Do not worry, if you go to the first page on this thread, the links to all the other seasons are there, so you can still read the whole thing.

TV clip where Oda discusses Quads, including Yuzu. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5l06a7_170505-akaspo-必見-4回転ヒストリー_sport
A very good 'history of quads' from Kurt Browning to the present.

Mostly it talks about the times when figures were more important than jumps, when quads became important, history stuff.
Other tv cast say that the really good skaters make it look so easy that it feels like you can jump ..but you actually can't. Oda says Yuzu's quads are especially beautiful as he jumps them with speed and flow. Without preparation, he jumps the quads cleanly with turns or steps, so when you see them you think, maybe I can do it.
The others agree that the very best make it look easy.

Thanks for the clip, Interspectator. Oda really seems to fit in with the media aspect of talking figure skating. I think the ease that Yuzuru can jump his quads with (Worlds 2017 FS is a really good example of him on his game) really makes it look like anyone can do it. I wonder what would have happened if not for that slight mistake on the salchow in the SP, it seemed like he was so prepared for this year's Worlds, I think we were so close to seeing even more WRs.

Hanyu should drop 4S3T and do other combo instead, he can get higher scores.
