Yuzuru Hanyu: 2016-17 Season

I could totally see Hanyu skating to Kim Yuna's "Gershwin". I'd like to see Hanyu skate to something composed by John Williams. I'm really hoping for an upbeat SP. Jazz or Bigband.

Wouldn't a tango or a rhumba look like he's just trying to beat Shoma, though? ;) I love it too when he skates to Asian music! Somehow I doubt he'll go for it in the FP for the third time in a row, but maybe hopefully in the gala or SP? *fingers crossed*

Hello!

Delurking after a month.

I'm a fan since last year but a devoted one since Worlds. I'm now frantically trying to organise tickets and travel to NHK, GPF, and Pyeongchang which seems utterly impossible to do from Australia. We're so iceless and neglected! If anyone has any advice I'd be forever grateful.

In my crazy sleepless nights reading countless posts and articles about skating, someone mentioned that the Requiem costume looked like a sparkle salad. Whoever this humorous person is, first, let me thank you for reminding me to eat my greens, and second, please take my name as an homage to you. Or, you know, just ask me to change it and I shall oblige!

And thank you all for leaving me the world's longest thread (though now split) to work my way through until next season.

Watching it made me realise just what a rollercoaster, especially for Team Japan, the past season was :drama: So many retirements :cry: But everyone's also improving despite the amount of challenges they have to face, and learnt new things I think. I also think it was really smart of Yuzuru to add the quad loop to his programs this season. He's come such a long way, physically, technically, artistically and also emotionally? I feel like he's matured a lot lol (kind of weird how I'm saying this when I'm not exactly old myself) and takes better care of himself now (aka less quad battles!). Hopefully the upcoming season will be also a fruitful one, not only for Yuzuru and Team Japan, but for all figure skaters :)

Yes! videos at the beginning of the season, Autumn Classic, seem like so long ago, his loop and all the challenging Yuzu and team Japan undertook this year was big. -They are all so lovable. It's very intense during competition, but I'm looking forward to seeing them relax together at the shows. Time seems to pass by so slowly, but it's less than 2 weeks till the first Fantasy on Ice. :yahoo:

Autumn Classic seems like eons ago :laugh: Maybe it's because of the white Prince outfit?? Seems like so long since we first saw that LOL

The sad thing is that Team Japan will only have more challenges to encounter next year - especially on the ladies front, with only 2 Olympic spots :slink: The thing is, I think all those ladies deserve to have a spot, because when they deliver they're all capable of placing really well... What's even worse is that now the competition is so fierce, and the field is so deep, the pressure for whoever is selected will be immense. I get kind of nervous just thinking about it. I don't envy whatever committee is in charge of selecting the ladies' spots... And I think the pairs and dance teams will have to fight for a spot at Olympics?

Anyways, I'm looking forward to the shows as well! Will they be airing the entire thing or just parts?

until now, it's been the whole thing that they've aired. Hopefully that continues.

Just thought I'd point out that the kana on the first page of this thread for Yuzuru's name is divided wrongly.
It's currently はにゅ　うゆづる　but it should be はにゅう　ゆづる
